I am sickened to report that I have been "working" for this company for the last month. I thought I had done my due diligence vetting them. After receiving my job offer through email, I looked up the company online and all I saw was their website. I then spoke to Michael Benson by phone who sent me an application and contract agreement.  They didn't want any money from me either, so I didn't think it was a scam and I had nothing to lose, especially once I started receiving packages worth hundreds of dollars.

I should have listened to my instincts when I got 5 packages the first day and the labels they sent were way off in the dates and weights of the boxes (dates were for months ago and a box that weighed 2 pounds at the most had a label for 20 pounds). They were also being shipped to Russia. I was actually in the post office at the counter with the clerk, (who had told me that the addresses were wrong as well and I needed to find out what was going on before they could be shipped), when I called Michael Benson to let him know. He told me to send me the package ID#s so they could send the right labels. They sent them and I shipped them out.

Everything went smoothly after that and I was building alot of money in my payroll account; over $2500 now. But when I didn't get my pay yesterday as promised, I tried to contact the "managers" on the account dashboard (http://www.access-controlsystem.org/main) to ask where my pay was. When I didn't get an answer back today, I tried to email Michael at the original address the job offer came through. There hasn't been a response to that yet either. I tried to call Michael but got the voicemail. I had an uneasy feeling, so I went back online to doublecheck the company and was astounded to see all of the complaints! They weren't there when I googled the company in June! Now I'm really scared about what will happen, and mad at myself for falling for this scam.

I followed the links from others and sent a fraud alert to the credit reporting companies to cover myself from here on, but don't know what will come back to bite me in the future. I want to do more, but don't know what. I agree with 'Jixed' from July 18th that we should come together and organize to do something, but now I'm even afraid to send an email to someone I don't know! I do plan to contact all of the manufacturers that have sent merchandise, as well as USPS. UPS and FedEx to inform them of this. I'm glad to say that since I'm very methodical (see obsessive) I have copies of all the correspondence, messages, documents and labels, if that helps with anything. I'll keep checking for updates from this website and will add any that I have to share.

I GOT SCAMMED BY MICHAEL BENSON TOO!!!

AUTHOR: rm - ()

POSTED: Sunday, July 28, 2013

Terry,

You're not the only one who got taken for a ride. I did too. I received an e-mail from a recruiter saying their company found my resume on CareerBuilder. Knowing CareerBuilder is reputable & being laid off in the summer, I decided to e-mail him.

I too was in contact with Michael Benson via phone & with the contracts via e-mail. I too was promised I would be paid on the 26th of the month. That never happened. Than, after sending about 4 packages, I received a call from Sears.com asking if I had tried to open an account & buy $1500 worth of cameras. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. That same day I received 12 packages in a nubmer of hours all addressed to me but with people I didn't even know.

My pay was supposed to have been $1760 for 2 weeks work. Yesterday, I got a statement from Fingerhut saying I have an open account with them & ordered an apple iPad mini for $500 which was returned when I stopped accepting packages from them. Still, the account is open & I want to know how these people got past any Fraud alerts I put on my account.

I thought about contacting one of the local news programs like ABC News, NBC News, CBS News, etc. & tell them my story but I'm not sure how to contact them.

I do think he needs to be caught. He runs the same scam under a different name. That company goes by the name Frontier Quality Monitor aka Quality Focus Groups. He also runs a charity he claims helps benefit Wildlife in Canada & asks for donations to the group.

He needs to be stopped but I don't know how to stop him. Do you have any ideas?
