Watch out for any USPS mail you receive from "eBook Lifestyle" (ebooklifestyle.com)!!  I received their letter 09/18/14 and they claim I signed up for their on-line e-book store but I definitely DID NOT.  I don't even own a device I could download an e-book on!!

What scared me most is that they said, "We will debit your account $24.95 each month on your credit card, ending in XXXX (the correct last 4 digits of the only credit card I have) starting 10/13/14..."

I don't see where it's an offer that I can opt out of and if I do nothing they claim my account will be charged.  They said I could call their 1-877 number to cancel but they were closed for the day (I'll try again earlier in the day).

When I entered their website, I didn't readily see where I could cancel the membership.  I did try e-mailing in their customer service area to tell them my desire to cancel but it's too soon to know if they will respond.  I also hope they don't actually know my entire credit card number (and may be just bluffing in knowing the last 4 digits) because I don't want to have to close it down...too many auto payments coming out of it.

Such a hassle to deal with a mess like this... I just pray things don't get any worse!! :-(

Happy Ending (I Hope)

AUTHOR: ConLou75 - ()

POSTED: Friday, September 19, 2014

Great news!  On the evening of 09/18/14 (later the same day that I had received the "membership notice" from eBook Lifestyle) I tried calling eBook Lifestyle's phone number (1-877-251-2422) listed on the bottom of their letter to cancel my "membership" .  I got a recording I was calling after hours so I hung up.

When I got home from work the very next day (09/18/14) I had a voice mail message (from an actual live person) stating they had received my "dropped call" on their cancel membership line and stated they were removing me from membership.  The man even gave me a reference number for future use, if necessary.

I thought this was a wonderfully prompt and satisfying response.  I will keep the information handy and double check my upcoming cc statement, just in case.  But, all-in-all, this was a great ending.

My suggestion is to do as I did and hopefully you'll receive the same good news.  Good luck!!
