Ecostravel Cotopaxi Tours horrible service, expensive, ripoff, liers Quito Internet

My fiance and I went on vacation to Ecuador last June.  I hired the services of Ecostravel to go to Otavalo and sorrounding areas. 

The guide arrived over an hour later than he supposed to and in a traxi cab.  His english was not good, I would say 50% so he was not able to explain many of the attractions.  

Every time we stopped at a place he stayed in the car sleeping instead of coming with us to guide us and help taking pictures.  The worst thing is that we were not able to make it to our final destination, Lago Cuicocha, because we arrived late and the guardians didn't let us in the park.  

The guide then told us that he didnt know they close so early and that the signs with the schedules outside the park are new.  When we ask the person at the entrance he said that sign was there for about a year.  So this taxi driver lied to us and kept lying saying that that wasn't true.  We left upset and dissapointed we were not able to see one of the most important attractions of Ecuador because of this guide's incompetence. 

Once we were back from our vacation I emailed the company with my claim and ask for a refund for part of the money I pay because the service was incomplete and I think it was just fare.  They said they were going to talk with the guide to ask him but of course he lied again saying we left satisfied and very grateful with the service.  I email back saying that it was not true and that's why I did not tip him at all. They asked me for proof but how I'm going to have proof of that!  I wasn't smart enough or quick enough to take pictures when he arrived late and record the time on my camara, take a picture of the taxi cab instead of a turistic car, take a picture o video record the discusion I had with my fiance because of that, etc so of course they did not return any money.

I paid $180 for a half day tour which here in US may seem not too bad but in Ecuador it is very expensive.

People who plan to go on vacation to Ecuador be aware that the country is beautiful but the service can be horrible so avoid hiring services with Ecostravel o Cotopaxi Tours (it has two names I wonder why) and pick some other company that treat the customers as they deserve.
