eHarmony automatic renew contract without consent, Internet
*Consumer Suggestion: You agreed to it by signing up..Here's part of the Terms of Use link at the bottom of their home page..
*General Comment: Automatic Renewal is common
Is it legal for a company online to renew there service without your consent? I send them an Email to let them know the day my service end that i do not wish to renew. They take the money for 3 other months. They send me back this email:
(Thank you for your reply. We're sorry to hear that you wish to leave eHarmony. Your most recent charge was for an automatic renewal. We provide the automatic renewal feature to benefit you with uninterrupted service. Per our Terms and Conditions you are not eligible for a refund).
Is it legal to use a credit card when i never agree or authorize an automatic renewal ?

Have you cancelled yet or planning to do so when your subscription expires?
Probably should have read this before signing up.

The automatic renewal would be part of there terms and conditions when you signed up, this is a pretty normal thing for online pay sites and most make it fairly clear that automatic payments will be taken from your account when you sign up.
The only way to really avoid those would be to cancel in advance of your next payment date (usually the day that your current contract with the company would end.)
In the end you likely did give them consent when you signed up for the service originally, try taking a look at their membership terms to be sure though.
