Last week my Dad received virtually the exact letter that Ami described, coincidentally, He had even won the same amount of money.....He also received the same form to fill out, requesting such personal information as his date of birth, occupation, & marital status. It asked for the same confidential Bank info., including the bank phone number, And yes, the Next of Kin information also. But, He also immediately recognized a scam when he saw one!

Within five minutes of googling, I was reading with amazement the same exact scenario. This Web site is fantastic. Very informative & easy to find.

While filling out the "Scam" company info., I had an interesting thought. We all know how a good joke is virtually e-mailed 'around the world' for hundreds to read... While knowing the company, & the 'Claims Rep- Juan Gomez,' to whom he was to send the info to, are undoubtedly fake. I suspect the fax # is probably real, with someone waiting & hoping to receive faxes filled with the information they need.. So, I'm going to e-mail everyone in my address book a copy of this site, & ask them to do the same. And, especially ask ANYONE within reach of a fax machine, to send 'Juan Gomez' at Fax # 011-34 654 989 182 a fax. With or without a comment... Just enough to keep a steady stream of that Expensive Fax Paper coming out of his machine...Maybe Scamming people won't be quite as profitable as planned..
