My fiance and I hired Emily Thompson of Get Photography in April 2016 to be our photographer in November of the same year. We paid the full total of $750. September 21st I decided to get in contact with Emily to set up a meeting time to discuss photo expectations, etc. only to discover that her personal facebook, company facebook and website were gone. The phone number she gave me was now registered to another person, who sympathised with my sudden plight and told me he'd been receiving several calls from people looking for Emily trying to get their money and/or photos. From there we tried going to Emily's former address in Saginaw, which was being rented by a new family. Any emails sent to her orginal info@getphotography.com were bouncing back, as were any other phone numbers we tried to reach her at. An Instagram message was futile as well. 

I was finally able to get into contact with Emily at her new email: info@garyandemmie.com when I searched the hashtage #HappySkiesPhotography on Instagram, found a wedding coordinator whose client passed on the email. The website itself, GaryandEmmie.com had already been deleted, but revealed a PO Box in Fort Worth, but the IP Address for the website is registered in California. 

At the time of contact, my fiance had already filed a police report for theft. Emily claimed they had every intention of being at our wedding and accused me of threatening her when I reached out to one of her daughters to try and get ahold of Emily and informed her of an interview with a detective on Monday, who refered to the case as criminal, not civil. However, the detective did not seem to be with the FTWPD and seemed to be a Private Detective. Either way, it became apparent to us that there are many people looking for Emily Thompson and her husband Gary. 

Emily accused me of threatening her and stopped answering my emails, instead she began emailing my fiance instead. She told my fiance that she couldn't accept a digitaly signed letter of cancelation and would not "Hand over a dime" until she received a hand signed document. We agreed and asked her where she would like it to be sent, I asked for a physical address to be sent via certified letter, she did not respond to me.

She finaly responded to my fiance, who asked the same exact thing I did, on Sunday evening saying "I will contact you tomorrow after I found out from my attorney which is required." 

Still waiting, not sure why she is A) So difficult to reach B) So unwilling to coorperate and issue my refund. My only guess is that she is A) A scam artist and B) Doesn't have my money, or anyone else's money, for that matter. 

Emily claimed she had every intention of showing up to our wedding, but that is extremely difficult to believe seeing that she didn't notify me of her changing company names, changing phone number, deleting her facebook, website, and moving from her companies registered address. Legally, our contract is void because the company I hired Get Photography is no longer in business. At this point Emily is simply holding my money hostage and is terrified of the fact people have found her. 

Please do not use Emily Thompson or her husband Gary as your photographers. They are liars, cheaters and thieves, plain and simple.
