Called - Empire Today for an estimate on wood flooring to be installed in our family room. Salesmen came out, measured showed us samples, we made a selection. A price was given to us and after a week or so we decided to go with Empire Today. Salesmen again came over, we went over all the details again a contract was signed and we gave the deposit requested. We were told that the floor could not be installed until the next week because it had to be ordered and they wanted to get their best wood flooring installers to do the work for us. Explained to us in that fashion, we agreed that waiting a few extra days was fine with us being reassured they were sending the correct flooring and their best wood flooring installers. So on installation day the guys (or boys) came out, entered the house looked around took some measurements, explained that he did not think he could do the job the way the salesmen sold it. The installers went out side made some phone calls, came back in the house handed me the phone. The manager at the Pittsburgh location was telling me they could not do the job based on the way it was sold to me. They offered no other solutions, no call from the sales person, no apoligies and at one point my wife got on the phone trying reason with them to find out why they could not do the job, the manager was down right rude to her. It took several phone calls and weeks to get our deposit back, no other explanations or calls from anyone.
This was a bad experience; when you go through the process of dealing with a company, having them in your home several times, agreeing on a price, both parties signing a contract/agreement, a deposit being paid, the anticipation of a service being delivered. And then on the day of your installation and expectations being delivered right up to the point that we took off 2 days of work, had all the furniture in the room relocated to another room; and then being told Oh we cant do this. I WILL NEVER USE OR RECOMMEND EMPIRE TODAY.
