***BEWARE***READ THE FINE PRINT***BEWARE*** My Husband called Engines R US Pros after he found an ad. He talked to a guy named Mike (Mike has not been there on either occasion we went in, nor available by phone). They quoted $1875 to rebuild the motor and this came with a free tow to their shop. We were not home when they picked up the car on Feb 5th, 2016, so our Son signed the paperwork, but they did not leave a copy for us. We went by the shop on Feb 12, 2016, to drop off a battery. While there, they told my husband that the block was cracked and there were a few other things wrong. So, if he wanted to have the job done, it was going to cost more money. My Husband asked how much he would owe if he just picked the car up and did not have the job done (the car is not worth that much). The guy at the shop said that since we already paid $500, we would owe and additional $400. So $900 for them to take the motor out. We talked about it over the weekend and decided to cut our losses and just donate the car to charity. My Husband called on our way home from Arizona and told the guy we would be in that same day, Feb 15, 2016. When we got there, Mark went into the office. He came out a few minutes later and said that the additional monies due were now $620, not $400. I went in to pay the bill and the young guy who was working asked me if I was writing a check, I said yes. He said we could not have the car that day. I said that was ok because the charity would be picking it up on the 16th. He said that they would have to wait until the check cleared or I could bring in cash. REALLY...It is Presidents Day and all of the banks are closed. He said "well you could stop payment", to which I told him that I was an honest person, unlike his business practices. He said that they are honest people and we just did not read the small print, in their ad or that we signed. I explained that we did not sign anything, that my Son did and that they did not leave a copy for us to read. There is NO FREE TOWING if you do not have your auto repaired at the shop. That was the extra $220 charge. The $1875 quote was now close to  $2700 (and could go up, if they did not use some of the old parts). Oh, and if we want them to put the motor back in the car, the charge is over $600 more. I advised that I was going to post a bad review, based on their unethical practices and was told, "that's ok, I will just reply that you didn't read the small print".  So do yourself a favor, avoid this place and go to a place that has honest business practice and make sure that you read the small print.
