Never Again!

In Feb 2013 we had to leave our rental at the unattended Enterprise lot beneath John Wayne airport in California to catch a 6:05 AM flight to Michigan.

Two days after leaving the car we received a bill for $449.80 in the mail for unspecified damages.  $250 had already been charged to our Visa card and we were requested to have our insurance company send them the rest.  No damage report or rental receipt received.

After two months of emails and phone calls, we finally received the damage report which was prepared by a non-existent collision company (according to the California Secretary of State and local BBB).  The report photos showed a spot on the top of the truck that could only be seen under a magnifying glass (shown in photo) and another spot on the rear wheel well that looked like small bird doo-doo.

Visa denied the charges and credited my account.  My auto insurance also denied the claim.  I thought the matter was closed.

Today, six (6) months after I returned the car and exactly 8 days after I published a "Pissed off" web complaint , Enterprise's collection agency sent me a letter stating they were pursuring collection procedures.  Two months after Enterprise's bank (Bank of America) refunded the charges they made in February.  This is just plain harassment!

 

Enterprise, Alamo, and National look like cheap rentals but be aware they are expert at "making up the difference".
