When I called AT&T to find out what all of these charges were, (basically $14.95 each, mo. charge) they said I had to call each number to cxl and credit. I never authorized any of these companies, I don't even know what they are. It took me a very long time on the phone to cxl and I found out that a person by the name of T.Thomas had authorized these charges. I do not know this person, but now understand that this is some kind of a scam going on. I called to find out what this was for...Digital Vmail-Voicemail $14.95. I was told they sent emails out regarding this and I sent mine back with all my personal information and requesting my own personal #800. I explained I never heard of this company much less authorized it....she told me they would block the #800 and credit my acct. New bill just came...no credit for last month but I did get charged again $14.95. Another call made and now they were trying to tell me that they never agreed to credit me...they were only
going to block the #800....requested to speak to a supervisor/mgr and was assured that both charges would be reomoved in 6-8 weeks. We shall see.

I am going thru the same issue

AUTHOR: Christie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 17, 2010

I am with AT&T as well and received the same $14.95 charge. I was charged two months in a row for the bills due in Jan. and Feb. I did not catch it the first time because my bill fluctuates. When I caught it I called ESBI who tried to put it off on this guy who had my phone number two years ago. I knew his name as I still get calls for him..I'd imaging if you skip trace your own number you will find the T. Thomas is probably who had the phone number before you. My guess is that they couldn't find my personal info. because I have an unlisted number...

Anyway, this company has been doing this for 12 years from the research I've done. The Internet is littered with complaints and the AT&T rep I spoke with said they have received a lot of calls about this company and seemed very agitated it was being allowed to continue.

If you haven't already done so, call AT&T and have them submit a cramming form. They reversed the charges for my current bill and hopefully my next one will be fixed on the bill I'll get in a few days. At that point ESBI's only direct bill you and quite frankly, they would be on a slippery slope if they had the nerve to do that.

Good luck!
