I attended Everest College in Earth CIty, MO in jan 2010, and graduated jan 29,2011. I was an MAA student who was an ambassador and a mentor weeks into starting. I was initially misled from the beginning. I was never told that the program was not a certificate program, but in fact a diploma. If i would have known that i would not have attended and wasted my time and money. I enjoyed the program although it seemed only have class 4 hrs a day was not sufficient enough to actually learn the medical terms, duties that were needed for an MAA position. Although i finished with an A average, i never received help toward a career. This school is supposed to prepare you for a degree, not a job. I had a recrutier from career center in the location i went to that first started looking for jobs for me and that lasted for a short period of time. I never heard from him again and then he left the company. The jobs that were searched for me were only minimum wage jobs and not really in the field i enrolled in. After several months and then yrs that passed, I called again to speak with someone in the career center and they told me to get on craigslist, as I already do, and gave me some websites that I already was registered with as well. This is not what the job description is. They are supposed to get you interviews, actually search for jobs for you and get oyu started. I know they cant get you the job, but they can prepare you for that job that you are looking for. I dont need a min wage job, that is the reason i went to school. I left my last FT job before Everest making 13.55$ hr, i do not see why they would try and find me jobs that make $8 hr or less. Thats not something that I would do even as a person searching for a job. I feel that that is insulting to me as a 38 yr old woman(now) who is searching to find a career and take care of her family. Everest is misleading, a waste of time and money and I plan on prosecution real soon. STAY AWAY FROM EVEREST COLLEGE IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR SANITY AND YOUR MONEY. THE CAREER CENTER ASSOCIATES ARE ABUNCH OF YOUNG WOMEN THAT HAVE MINIMAL EXPERIENCE, SITTING AT THEIR DESKS DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING AT ALL FOR THE STUDENTS! A GOOD THING TO PUT ON A RESUME IS WHAT IT IS.
