In August of 2004 I had been shopping around for a credit card to help rebuild my credit. After looking at several I applied for one through Everst Financial.

I was told that I would get a 2,400 dollat limit. I was required to pay a one time fee of 299.00 and that I would receive the card within five to ten days.

I asked several times when I would receive it because I am a single mother and also a full time student; money is extrememly tight. I told them I could only do it if I would be guranteed to have the card within 10 days.

They debited my money on the 1st of September. After two weeks I called the customer service center and was told that there was a delay and it would take 2 to 4 weeks to receive it. I waited two more weeks and then called again. I was told a different time frame.

The next time that I called by I asked for the person that I had original talked to, Ron Leiberman. He had given me his name, extension, and a confirmation number. I was told that there was no extension or person named Ron Leiberman there.

Every time that I called I was told something different. I went to my bank and asked them what could be done. They told me that since the company had debited my account through an electronic check that they could not dispute the charges and that I would have to handle it with Everest.

A lot of times when I called they would answer the phone and say that there computers were down and to call back in a couple hours. Then when I would call back they would say to call tomorrow. Many, many times their office would simply be closed.

Finally on November 4, 2004 I was able to speak to someone and they started the refund process, supposedly. I was told it would take two weeks and then I would get it in the mail. Well, as you can imagine, I never got it. So, I called again. I was then told that my refund would take 30 business days.

I have called every week hoping that there is some kind of update. All that they can tell me is that there have been a lot of delays, but that it will be coming.

Today when I called the person told me that they are not guranteeing any refunds and that Everst has outstanding refunds starting back in August. I was told to go back to my bank again and that there was nothing else they could do. I was out of luck. Really, that is exactly what he said to me.

I called Netchex next and they told me that they did not have any more money to refund for Everest and that they are no longer associated with that company.

Needless to say, over the last 4 months I have been pushed around by both my bank and Everest.

I have a police investigation going right now because during the same time frame there were other charges debited from my account that are not mine.

I don't know if they are associated or not, but I plan to find out.

I sent the items shipped to me on Nov 13. The company got them a few days later and told me a refund would be issues in 30 business days.

I called on 1/21/05 to check the status and I was informed thet the company is not in business any longer.

Please keep me informed on any dealings with this company. I am willing to do work to get after this company if needed.
