After working 1 day for this company on a spur of the moment assignment.  I received my check with a bogus deduction for $25.00, I agreed to .02 for finding me work and .08 for a fake insurance they claim to have.  But that only comes to $6.60 of a measily $66 check.

These guys are not honest and I will never work for them. I wouldn't recommend them to a company managing dog houses.

I know it is a small check but principles are just that.  If they'd steal $19 from an employee they assign and ultimately pay them below minimum wage who will work for them but desperate individuals.  It adds up quickly over time.

I was suspicious when I faxed my time sheet on mon 9/15/14 at 9:28 am only to be called at 3:00 pm asking me about it, they were on some garbage.  So I resent it, mind you I wouldn't get paid for another week, because it had to be in their offices by Noon.

So I waited until 9/25/14 and they had deducted just whatever they wanted, and told me everybody pays that.  Since, that's what they said, I figure they steal from anybody that is in their employ.

Thank you so much for expressing your confusion and we will absolutely take this as a learning experience that everyone must attend the orientation we offer every Tuesday that goes over exactly how we work and everything step by step. The $25 new-hire / criminal screen fee is deducted out of everyone’s first paycheck. Unfortuntely, that is the cost of the service we use to conduct backgroud screenings. That is something that is gone over in the application that you signed. But we do understand that things can be looked over sometimes and we apologize that this was the case in this particular circumstance.

We are a staffing service exclusive to the apartment industry. Our goal is to be a place where property management professionals can come to and we can assist you in finding your permanent position. It is our goal to place the best employees with the best properties.

Please feel free to contact us directly at (972) 606-8700 and ask for Crystal Collins and we will make sure to get a good clarification and clear up any misunderstands because even though 98% of our previous and current employees are satisfied, happy, and grateful we never want to leave anyone with anything less than a excellent impression of Exclusive. Your opinions and concerns are deeply important to us.

THERE IS A LOT OF WAGE THEFT IN TEXAS. ESPECIALLY WITH TEMP AGENCIES.

AUTHOR: glaea - ()

POSTED: Friday, October 31, 2014

I am not from Texas but I have lived out here a few years. I presently live in Grand Prairie, TX but I've lived in Dallas and in Fort Worth and I've temped in all three places. Your experience is not unique. I too have had to fight for my wages A LOT while living in Texas. That is how Texas attracts all of this business. They roll back protections for the workers that Northern Cities and other places have in place to make sure the workers can't get railroaded. They do this to attract businesses. Really shady and crooked businesses then flock to this state. I have had to fight for my wages. I have many friends here, some of whom are native Texans who have had to do the same. I have taken to recording ALL of my calls with temp agencies. If you have a small handheld recorder that you can carry in your pocket just put your phone on speaker and turn on the recorder. This is allowed in Texas as Texas is a "one party consent state". I started doing this because the temp agencies would lie about so many things and I would need backup.

The companies in Texas are crooked as hell and they pit the temporary staffing agencies against one another. That means that they want the agency that will charge them the LOWEST. Because of this there is an extremely small profit margin to be made by the temp agencies because the charge the companies so little to get the business so the temp agencies turn to taking this money from the worker. They have all sorts of tricks to do this. If the employee leaves before their shift is over or doesn't complete the assignment for whatever the reason many Texas temp agencies will go and reduce their wage to minimum wage. They have these clauses slipped inside all of the contracts. The temporary staffing agencies nickel and dime on the drug tests and background checks and badges. Even some of the bades are nothing more than a regular computer printout of your picture (which they get from photo copying your ID) and the agency will charge $25 dollars for this! WTF?!

A lot of the agencies pay close to nothing to get the background checks done and use cheap little drug test kits but they charge such high fees from their low wage workers they are actually making a profit. I say stay away from these agencies. I have quit so many of them. I can't stand them. It's all nothing but a big hustle. The worker LOSES.
