In early 2007 I brought my vehicle to Extreme Auto Care and Service in Benton, IL to have my car looked at because it was shaking and the alignment seemed to be off. Owner Joe Rock inspected the vehicle and told me I needed new brake pads, both tie-rod ends, a right front bearing, both rotors and a left ball joint. He gave me an estimate of $390.00 for parts and labor.

I scheduled the car for repair and a few days later took it in for the work. The car was in the shop overnight and the next day I picked it up. The bill had risen to $462.00 because Joe told me he had to replace both front ball joints. I paid him and took my car home.

The next day when I got out on the freeway, I noticed the car was still shaking and the alignment felt the same - pulling to the right. I brought the car back and Joe told me that it would continue to do this until I replaced the struts also, at a cost of $650.00 for parts and labor.

I then took the car to another mechanic for a second opinion. I told the second mechanic everything that had just been replaced by Joe Rock at Extreme Auto, and he put the car on a lift to inspect it.

The new mechanic called me in to the garage to show me what he found: The ball joints were both still original OEM equipment, the tie rod ends were old, rusted, original parts that had never been replaced. The front bearings were removed and shown to me... they were old, decrepit and in need of replacement.

The only things that had been replaced were front brake pads and the right rotor.

I took my car to a third mechanic who confirmed that I had indeed been ripped off by Joe Rock and Extreme Auto Care. It later came to my attention that Joe Rock has been arrested and charged with felony theft for ripping off a corporate client to the sum of nearly $100,000.00. He was ordered to repay $65,000.00 by the court.

His record of lawsuits filed by customers who have fallen victim to Joe Rock is several pages long - he has lost every one of them. You can see his complete criminal and civil record at www.ExtremeAutoScam.tk

He broke my window and would not pay for it.  Costed me alot of money for new window, to have it installed, and re-tinted.  This guy is a joke.  Mine is listed under body work-mechanic.

#3 UPDATE EX-employee responds

From a former employee...

I worked for Joe Rock for several months before I quit, because on top of screwing his customers, he screws his employees.

Joe Rock charges $125.00 for a complete detail job including exterior buffing, but I have NEVER seen him buff a car. He uses a cheap bottle of spay-on polish and then tells the customer he buffed the car. Apparently his customers fall for it and pay this outrageous $125.00 fee for nothing more than a basic car wash, window wash and interior vacuum job.

He loves scamming the used car dealers in town, they are his biggest target. Used car dealers get a discounted rate, but the same crappy "buff job". He has several dealers in town that use him on a regular basis.

I quit working for him when he kept screwing me on my pay. I worked 55 hours one week and was paid $210.00, another week I worked 50 hours and was paid only $190.00.

He does very little at the shop himself, he's usually in a Vicodin-induced stupor. When he is there he is usually on the phone selling Vicodin or trying to find new people to buy it from him. He tried on many occasions to sell it to me, his offer was always $100.00 for 20 750mg pills, or $5.00 each.

He keeps the Vicodin in the center council of his truck, right in the open. I have never seen a prescription bottle for them. (I'm sure he'll find a new hiding place for his narcotics now that he's been exposed).

Are the court records all lies also?

Insider employee (Joe), since this is all lies (as you say) are all the court records and lawsuits against Joe Rock lies also? Did Ameren lie when they sued him for ripping them off for over $70.000.00?

I imagine it's all a two-decade conspiracy, right: People started suing Joe Rock for ripping them off (and winning their suits) over twenty years ago as part of a huge conspiracy against him.

Don't be stupid. His record speaks for itself and no amount of ignorant denial will be able to bury that.

Joe is definitely a "sheep in wolf's clothing".
