When working for Farmington Square I experienced both good and bad in the direction the company was taking. They made an honest attempt to upgrade the level of care and atmosphere of the facility. The problem in the situation was money motivated far too much. Jodi Guffee (VP) told me directly when they just got the medicaid contract that they had no intentions of keeping the contract. Farmington Square was only using the medicaid contract and the idea that your family would be taken care of after their finances ran out as a way to attract new clientel. They performed a vigorous check to make sure all private pay customers had at least two years finances before allowing anyone to take residence there. After the two years the customer was promised to stay at whatever Medicaid would give them. But once Farmington filled their facilities they intended of dropping the medicaid contract and forcing those who were there with out means to pay to vacate. At that point the customer would essentially be only available to state facilities or some place that would take only what medicaid gave them. These places were and are usually awful places. I am not sure if this policy is still part of their gambit, but beware.

Farmington Medford does not take Medical

AUTHOR: Mary S - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, July 18, 2012

I have a Farmington Square Medford Oregon brochure that clearly states that Farmington does not accept Medicaid. My mother in law was in there and after all of her resources had been illegally taken from her with the help of a Farmington Square attorney that was their agent of service at the time. Farmington made it crystal clear that mom had to go. They reiterated that Farmington Medford did not accept any form of Medicaid!

Farmington Square - My Experience

AUTHOR: Hank - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, October 15, 2004

My response is from my personal experience of working at Farmington Square in Salem. Our campus has the policy of once a person is here; this is their home for the rest of their life if they and their family members so choose. This is regardless of whether they spend down and go on Medicaid.

This campus has a number of Medicaid residents, even in buildings where there are no vacancies. No one has been evicted due to moving to Medicaid.
