I called Fast Appliance Service to repair my subzero refrigerator. A serviceman arrived on Friday, June 30, diagnosed the problem and gave me a written quote of $650 to which I agreed.  I paid him a $125 service fee as well as an additional $100, both fees being applied towards the total cost.  The following Monday, the receptionist called to inform me that the serviceman was incorrect in his quote and the repair was going to be $850.

I explained that the quote was in writing and that it should be honored.  Speaking very abruptly, she said there was no way they could do it for the quoted amount.  Naturally upset by this, I asked to speak to the owner.  I was told that Larry Leibowitz was unavailable.  I left messages over the next two days - Mr. Leibowitz never took or returned these calls.

On the third day, a man answered identifying himself as the manager, Pat Carmichael.  I said "good, I'd like to explain my story" to which he responded "you have thirty seconds". Startled, I began to explain what happeded only to be hung up on! Stunned by this rudeness, I called back and asked, "did you just hang up on me?" to which he responded, "you have ten more seconds".  Not believing what I was hearing, I again started to recap the situation when he said, and I quote, "f*** you and the horse you rode in on you c***".

Needless to say I was shocked and quite upset. I have never been spoken to in such a rude and disgusting manner by anyone let alone a manager of a service company.  I have since called another service company who quoted the same initial price of $650 that the original repairman gave to me.

At this point, we have not received any of our initial deposit back, nor have we heard from Mr. Leibowitz, Mr Carmichael or anyone else from this company to resolve the dispute or even to apologize for their incredibly rude and abusive treatment.

customer called for service and paid the service call fee of $125.00 which was to be applied toward the

repair

customer was quoted $650.00 for the repair of the customers $12,000.00 SUB ZERO REFRIG

upon further research thru the manufacturer it was determined that the repair also needed additional

parts that the tech was not aware of when the service call was rendered

the parts were going to cost about $450.00 and the total job was going to be around $850.00

we contacted the customer and explained this when she became irate

we agreed to refund the monies she paid on account and she did not want to hear it

we provided her the refund

she contacted us for a repair estimate and we provided one

if she was not happy with the adjusted estimate she can go elsewhere

we have done nothing wrong
