I'd just like to say that I am an extremely disappointed new customer. I just moved into a new house with an LP gas tank. I called Ferrellgas because the people who lived here previously said they had always used Ferrellgas. Being unfamiliar with this method of heating, I called and asked questions including how much this would cost. I was quoted $1.22 when I initially bought gas and was then advised that it would go up a little in the winter to about $1.85-$2.00. This seemed agreeable to me, so I continued to use the service, though it took nearly two weeks to receive my first refueling.
My tank eventually was nearly depleted again so I called to have it refilled. Two days later, I was pleasantly surprised to find a service slip at my door! But much to my horror, I had been charged $4.85 a gallon!! They're good at promising one thing and delivering another. I do NOT believe the price was fair, but I have no legal legs to stand on. I'm under no contract, and I can't possibly prove their profit margins have recently increased significantly, but I know it's not fair to tell someone $2.00 and charge them nearly $5! It maybe isn't illegal, but it's extremely unethical.

There is a reason why Propane has skyrocketed in price recently...

It's in VERY short supply and retailers are having to pay a LOT more to even get any. We've seen the price of natural gas just about double where we live. It's been in short supply too. The price is very market sensitive.
My point is, if you're planning to change suppliers to get a better price, check carefully before switching. Propane, this cold winter has been described as in critically short supply.
I hope you can somehow survive the cost and the cold weather causing the problem. Good luck to you and others having to deal with it.
