i got divorced 2 years ago, during the process i got a bill from fingerhut, i called them to find out what the deal was, i told them i did not have an account nor did i order anything from them. come to find out my soon to be exwife had taken out an account in my name. when we went to court the judge ordered her to pay the bill, i even sent fingerhut court ordered papers saying my exwife was responsible for the bill. that has been two years ago and it is still haunting my credit report. please help me get this off. thank you

But the Court Order means nothing to Fingerhut. The court order is against your wife for her to pay Fingerhut. If she fails to pay it she is violating the court order. However, since Fingerhut is not ordered to remove it from your debt as far as they are concerned(and is legally correct) you are stiill responsible for the debt.
In order for Fingerhut to be bound by the court order, they would have had to have been made a part of your divorce and given the chance to object to the judges order in court. This isn't just Fingerhut, this would be any creditor.
Unfortunatly what you need to do is go after your ex-wife. You can first remind her that she is very lucky that you didn't pursue felony identity theft charges against her when you reminder her that she owes this money(Personally that is what I would have done). But if all else fails since you have a Court Order showing she was to pay and no proof of payment it should be a pretty slam-dunk case against her. You should be able to easily get the balance of the acccount. You may also be able to go after her for additional damages for any harm caused from the negative credit reporting.
If she fails to pay you back, you can take additional action against her including possible wage garnishment and/or attaching her accounts. You may even be able to do this without first going to court. However, you should consult an attorney to find out all of your options.
