FotoConnection - Bait & Switch Tactics! Beware! $589 Camera Package. Was told I had to have $200 battery! Midwood New York

In searching the web for a good camera package deal for a gift, I found a $589 package on Fotoconnection.com that purported to offer a Canon Rebel Digital SLR Camera, 2 lenses, a tripod and other accessories. It sounded too good to be true.

But, upon reading/re-reading the offer multiple times, I ordered this item online using my cc. Immediately, I received an email that asked me to "call to verify" order.

Upon calling the 800 number, I was greeted by a slippery sounding individual who told me that the $589 package did not include a battery and that battery would cost $200 extra. Knowing that this same camera (without extras) was available at my local Best Buy for $599, I declined and asked the order be cancelled.

At that point, Slippery Joe, claimed that 'the order was already processed" and couldn't be halted. He also claimed I would be charged $80 for a restocking fee/return.

Unbelievable. Unethical, Deceptive. Bait & Switch. Plain & Simple.
