My child with Autism has been a patient of Foundations Therapy for several years. Since a fairly recent change in his insurance, the company has treated my family poorly and disrespectfully. The pay out on the CPT code was reduced when our insurance coverage changed from one company to another.

They misapplied a check in the amount of $500.00 and refused to treat my child. Since the insurance changed, our family received several calls stating false claims about our son's behavior in efforts to get us to switch providers. After that did not work, they proceeded to ask us to participate in sessions, to their surprise, we attended did despite our work schedules. They claimed if we did not follow this request, they would release him from their services. After that did not work, they brought up the $500.00 a missaplied payment from 2011-2012.

When our son had a different insurance company, that paid a higher rate for the cpt code they bill, they treated us with kindness, acceptance and respect. We fealt blessed to have them in our lives and saw a vast improvement in our son's behavior. As soon as the change in insurance took effect, their kindness, respect and acceptance dissapeared. It is disgusting what they put us through. Not following through on their claims to help our child integrate into new programs regarding issues with his diet and etc. They simply continued to do the things they already taught him while taunting my family.

My family paid a lot of money for this service. We trusted them with our son. Even though they were not getting paid what they wanted, they were getting paid to provide a service. They are contracted, in-network providers with our current insurance company. We should have been treated as any other patient/client, but we were not. What they did was unacceptable and resulted in them pushing us out the door due to our child's insurance plan benefits. We are talking about a child with Autism. This is discrimination to say the least.

The insurnce company has been contacted and are not impressed, and at this point are not happy their clients are being treated in this manner.

Excuse my previous typos... but I want to be clear on the following:

The fact that they released his 5day a week schedule the very same day (Friday, Sept 12th.) when they did not receive payment from a balance that had already been paid is a direct insult and based on invalid information. They do not care about my son's disability or the improvement thereof, they care about making money. Never once did owners Ivy Kaplan or Laura O'Dwyer reach out to my family to say "I am sorry there is a miscommunication," or "Let me look into this for you." In fact, they only reached out to us to threaten us and ask us for money.

The interruption in services will have a huge impact on my son and our entire family. Don't let them put your child and your family through this.
