My friend Mark H. came to me a few weeks ago and told me about a tax debt problem he was having, and that he was also having problems deciding on who he should hire to help him. Mark knows I love doing online research and that I'm good at it. Of the five companies that he asked me about, two of them were easy "outs" since their BBB ratings were in the trash AND they had recently been sued.

The one that looked the most promising was JG Tax Group owned by Jeff Galante in the Boca Raton, FL area. Initially JG Taxgroup initially looked really positive, they have a good rating with the BBB, and I did not find a lot of negative comments. But, I did find a lawsuit that really concerned me. I was unable to find a lot on it, because it looks like they have done a lot to hide/bury this "skeleton". The case has to do with Sara Vanegas versus Galante Group Corporation and she individually sued Jeffery Galante and David Connell in the case too.

My father always told me that if you want to know what a person is like then pay attention to how they treat their subordinates, not how they treat their peers. Jeff Galante, David Connell, and Galante Group (before they were known as JG Tax Group) refused to pay Sara Vanegas's overtime. Think about it, Sara had to sue them just to get her paycheck!

Read the entire case and all other documentation here: Lawsuit Galante Group / Jeff Galante / David Connell

This appears to have been a way to make this woman miserable, she won the case ($4,958), but at the end of it all she got was $1,458 in her pocket. The rest were legal fees.

If they are so willing to do something like this to an employee, then think how they might treat you if you were a client of theirs. Here is a relatively small amount of money (although I am sure it was not pocket change for Sara), why didn't he just pay her, this was not about judging her "truthfulness", Galante Group was just refusing to pay her overtime. After reading the case it is my opinion that he was doing this to intimidate her, who knows who else they have done this too. Are they pulling the same type of tactics on their clients? Jeff Galante and David Connell appear to lack "moral fiber", so I told Mark to "nix" doing business with any company associated with Jeff Galante and/or David Connell.

Mark and I did find a company that was able to help him. I did this because I feel that people like you should know if a company is showing a really good face, when the actions they have taken in the past suggest that they are actually pretty "scummy".

How about replying and addressing what You & Galante Group did to Ms. Vanegas rather than complaining about some other company?

AUTHOR: Keith Barclay - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, July 25, 2012

I just received a notification that there had been a reply and I was surprised by the angle this "businessman" took.

Rather than discussing the case and explaining the basics of it, he gets defensive (a good indicator of guilt) and attacks some other company instead.

Again this shows the type of "moral fiber" he is made of. I'm even gladder that I did this now that Jeff Galante comes out and starts "crying" about how it is someone elses fault that this is posted.

Question Mr. Galante... is the lawsuit a lie too?

Did the government pay Ms. Vanegas just to sue you?

Or, I suppose one of your competitors set her up to sue you.

Fess up and stop whining, this woman sued you because you tried to steal money from her by not paying her for work she did. AND SHE WON!

This issue is not about some other company, it's about your ethics (or lack thereof) and why a person should be cautious of doing business with you because of it.

I guess youre going to sue me for posting the truth :-)

Oh, yeah, I "guess" I hand typed out the whole court case in my spare time just to make you miserable... give me a break.

I have plenty of free time and if you want to come after me for telling the truth about you then bring it on! I consider it an honor to show the world about people like you.

If you want to continue this then how about addressing what I wrote about?

Rebutal sir ;-)

That has to be the worst rebuttal ever to a complaint.

AUTHOR: markc84 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, July 25, 2012

Does your company not have a Public Relations department or person? If not, you need one. That has to be the worst rebuttal ever to a post.

You just deflected away from actually having to address the complaint, which made you look worse.

You did not address the accusations, which you said were frivolous. Okay then show how. You spent more time focusing on another company than you did on the post. I think you wrote 2 sentences, and all you said was, "we are ethical." I don't know about others, but I don't like companies slinging mud at anyone.

And at the end you have the nerve to try and make a sale by saying "if you have tax debt problems call JG Tax Group." Are you nuts? No way!! If you have a problem with a company, then settle it in court, because this looks like high school he said/she said, and it's kind of pathetic.

Nothing about this post is libel

AUTHOR: Eaton923 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, July 25, 2012

Whoever wrote this post did a good job of supporting their accusations by giving links to the documents that show the court cases, so I am not sure how you are going to sue for libel. By saying you settled for financial reasons has nothing to do with the fact that the ex-employee had to take you to court in order to get the overtime pay she was rightly due, twice (once as a company and once as idividuals). If you were so willing to settle, then why would she have started another suit? Why would the suit have reached federal court? These are the answers consumers, like me want. We do not want to hear you ramble about another company. If there is untruth to this story, please show the documents because right now your word isn't enough.

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company

In response to the article above

AUTHOR: Jeffrey Galante - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, July 25, 2012

This is a response from Galante Group.

The above article is obviously an attempt to tarnish Galante Groups reputation and it was submitted by one of our competitors.  We believe the competitor is Tax Defense Network,  because we have sued them and posted an article showing the real Tax Defense Network.  Our company has numerous employees and we have never had any allegations from any of them except the employee listed above.  We have never not paid for overtime.  It was a frivolous lawsuit which our attorneys decided to simply pay them off instead of running up excessive legal fees.  This is the only reason we settled, and we settled only for a financial matter.  But once again, I must stress that
our company is extremely ethical in all aspects of employees, customers and relationship with the IRS.  That is why our reputation stands as #1 in the country.

Below you will find the article we wrote about Tax Defense Network, which we believe is the entity that wrote this article, but did not have the courage to put their actual name down of who wrote this article.  We are investigating it now and subpoenaing the records from Ripoff Report to make a determination of who wrote this report.  Once we find out we will be suing for libel.

Who Is Tax Defense Network?

The Real Review

Tax Defense Network was founded in 2007, by brothers Franklin and Joseph Vailnho. Neither of whom is an Enrolled Agent, CPA, or Attorney. The company was established after both brothers and their prior business, Emergency
Debt Relief, were sued by Attorney General Charlie Crist on behalf of the State of Florida pursuant to the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, Chapter 501, Florida Statutes. To read more click here. For the settlement document on this matter click here.

Dwayne Harmon, while Vice President of Marketing at Tax Defense Network, was charged with 1.7 million dollars in Internet fraud. Harmon was accused of selling the personal information of hundreds of Tax Defense Networks clients, putting their identities at risk of being abused. To read more click here. To read Harmons lengthy criminal history, click here and to see his present incarceration click here.

Additionally, Tax Defense Network has set up a website called www.consumertaxreports.org. This
website claims to deliver Real Reviews, Honest Ratings, and Reliable Results. The website dishonestly poses as an outside, third party who has done background checks on each tax company and rated their performance from A-F. It attempts to mimic the Better Business Bureau, better known as the BBB. The truth is that Tax Defense Network owns consumertaxreports.org. and lists itself as the Number 1 tax company on the website. Meanwhile, Tax Defense Network is hard at work posting pretend, made up ratings on other companies.

Any company with a trustworthy reputation need not rely on deceptive websites to falsely promote themselves.
Click here for a copy of a lawsuit that JG Tax Group filed against the Valinho brothers, Tax Defense Network and its other website, consumertaxreports.org. After the lawsuit was filed, they immediately withdrew JG Tax Group from their website. We dismissed our lawsuit because Tax Defense Network removed our name and approximately 40 other names from the website. Several weeks later, Tax Defense Network was back up to their old tricks as theyd reposted JG Tax Group on their website in a less provocative way. We still believed it was libel so we notified Tax Defense Network that we were filing a second lawsuit. click here to see the copy of the lawsuit. Again, they immediately withdrew JG Tax Group's name from their website. As a taxpayer, it is vitally important that you do your research before hiring a firm to defend your rights. Do not leave your IRS tax problems
in the hands of possibly deceptive or untrustworthy individuals. If you are facing IRS tax problems, click here to
