GE Capital Money Bank

1.        On 04/13/2014, I was contacted by Jeff Thomas from GE Capital Money Bank, who informed me I was approved for a $5000 loan.  Payments would be $120.00 a month for 52 months at 7.5% interest and my first payment would be due on 05/26/2015.

 2.        On 04/14/2015, I contacted Jeff and informed him that I had looked up GE Capital Bank and found 110 complaints that they were a scam; taking money for services and then never receiving the funds.  He assured me that this was not the case with GE Capital Money Bank.  Then informed me that I need to go to Walmart and acquire a card “Rufh Life” and put $135.00 (+ $4.95 for the card) on it which would pay for the insurance to secure the loan if there was default.  I informed him that it would not be until tomorrow[V1]  before I could do this.  He said no problem and that I would call him before 1:00 pm on 04/15/15.  Yes, I would, but was this the last of the funds he would need and I was informed “yes.”

3.        On 04/15/15, I went to Walmart and they had no cards for Rufh Life, so I called Jeff, after back and forth between Jeff, myself and his manager, I sent the $135.00 (paid $3.95 for the MoneyGram) on MoneyGram ExpressPayment at 14:01, reference number 60822744.  Once I confirmed this transaction, then I was informed that I had to pay $123.00 for a one time transaction fee.  So I got this from the bank, but MoneyGram ExpressPayment Service, would not allow me to do another the same day.  Called Jeff, he confused me with pre-paid card, then Western Union, so I went to Amscot and after speaking with Mr. Smith the manager, it was done as a “I want to:  reload prepaid cards/mobile phones/other account.”  Account number ************6781.  The clerk questioned me was it going to Rufh Life card?  I said yes, and the transaction went through at 4:15 pm; transaction code number:  839797; MTCN: 377-409-4146.  Provided this information to Jeff who told me everything was set and the money was on its way to my bank account.

When the money did not reach my bank account I called Jeff, then the voice mail kept coming on so I called the direct number of the business 267-536-3455, and was transferred to Jeff.  He put me on hold for more than 10 minutes, and came back and said that US National Bank was holding up the funds because I now have to pay $432.00 tax to the US government for this loan which is 5% of the loan ($5,000.00 +$135.00 they are refunding).  I told Jeff I don’t have that kind of money and I have taken out loans before and never was subjected to a government tax and that I did not have any additional funds to take it out of the loan.

I was informed that the check was now in the hands of US National Bank and it was out of their hands to do anything.  I then spoke to Mr. Smith the manager again, and told him I wanted my money back ($135.00 + $123.00 = $258.00) since obviously I was not going to get the $5,135.00.  He informed me that it would take 6 months before the refund would be issued.  Needless to say I lost my temper.  He informed me that since I did not want the loan that was procedure.  I said no I needed the loan, but this was a scam and that I would call my attorney in the morning and sue them for $5 million dollars.
