I need to clear my remaining balance for my Living Spaces account for a lender fora home I'm trying to buy, and so, I made a third payment to clear my account to $0, but a supervisor Desiree had said that I would have to fax her more info. I did, and still it wasn't enough. What are they, the IRS? They took my first 2 payments. the third one will go through ok, but they are saying that they are placing it on "HOLD" because it was suspicious. Really? Using the same account we made the earlier payment for $1180 and some change and now a second payment for $643 to pay off my balance, they have to think it's suspicious? And I was able to furnish that I am the account holder to the money that was taken out for the $1180 but this lady want more. It's ridiculous and unncessary. The attorney general for California needs to step in to help us out here. We just need a $0 balance letter for a bill we paid so we can buy a home and these creeps are making it hell. I left a voicemail for her supervisor, but nothing yet.

Do not do business with GE Capital. They have their hooks into a lot of the store cards, but I will avoid doing business getting financing through any of their store cards from here on out. It's really crazy.

Hold or Not

AUTHOR: stereo19 - ()

POSTED: Friday, March 28, 2014

Dear person who put a rebuttal in the guise of a consumer instead of an GE employee. First of all, I've never had a company like GE hold someone's payment because they deemed it suspicious because I paid my bills. Secondly, my credit is pretty strong, and I was wanted to get better points on my loan. So, before you start opening your mouth, you may want to think with that brain of yours. I got funded in 14 days with a great rate. But, none of thise matters. To GE, my request as a customer was simply to get a $0 balance letter originally, and also, for them not to hold my payments to them. Especially when a previous payment went through successfully just a few weeks ago. The lady was just nasty, and should be disciplined by management.

It WILL go through?

the third one will go through ok, but they are saying that they are placing it on "HOLD" because it was suspicious.

- This is NOT a RipOff.  All they are doing is placing a "HOLD" to make sure it does clear.  They don't know you from the person across the street.  And you(not saying this is the case) would not be the first one who make two "legitimate" payments and have the 3rd one be rejected for one reason or another.   Because of this many creditors will place a hold on the final payment until they are sure it has cleared.

By the way did you even ask them how long this hold would be for?  Did you send this additional information they wanted to see?

Then just as a side note, if this single $643 payment is keeping you from getting your house, you probably aren't in that solid of a situation anyways...just something to think about.
