GeekSupport Certified Microsoft Tech Presented them selves as Certified MS Techs. Said MS contacted them because I have errors running in the background. They wanted full control of my PC remotely to show me the errors. I questioned them and said they can walk me through the process. While they argued I created a new profile and gave they access. Not admin, user. They rearranged my desktop, then took me to event viewer. I then severed the connection on PC and pkone. Deleted there software. What they want is for you to pay them for a PC monitor/clean up process. Yearly by credit card. Hang up and report them here. ? Connecticut

A company that calls it's self "Geek Support" called and said they represent MicroSoft and are Certified MS Techs. Said that MS says I have errors on my PC that I cant see because they are running in the background. They then asked me to download and run their company software so they can show me the errors. I asked why they cant just walk me through the steps and show me. "Because This is a free diagnostic check up." We are Certified MS Techs here to help you.

So I did, but when the "Showmypc" program ran, I unchecked the box that say, "give full control". This frustrated them and took them a long minute to figure it out. Meanwhile I created a user profile and switched to it. Ran the program again and gave them control. They rearranged my desktop, turned off my monitoring software then took me to event viewer, which they could have done with out remote access. Then wanted me to delete the logs. I refused and terminated my wifi connection.

They are a scam. Wanted me to sign up for a yearly fee, to have them monitor my PC. I hung up.

I'm not a big MS fan, in fact this is my last MS pc, but I hope they go after these people who are misreprsenting them and ruining an already bad name.
