Global Travel does note deliver on its sales presentation promises or answer mail or phone complaints. I am writing today, to express my EXTREME disappointment in the Global Discovery Vacations program. We were solicited via mail, to come to a presentation and we were to be awarded 2 Airline Tickets. We listened to your presentation, and had decided the program just was not for us. We were then, high pressure sold by a salesman, and we still decided not to sign up at this time. We were then pressure sold by a manager, but at a greatly reduced price, if we would cancel the airline tickets. We decided at that price, and with the claims made by Globals manager, the sales people, as well from the presentation, that we would give it a try. The presenters claimed a 95% placement in the properties requested. In a year, we have requested 4 properties, and have not been placed in any of them. We have not been able to even go to the destinations we requested. We were told that our first request was too late in the year (6 months before). We made a new request the very first day we were able to at the start of this year, and still were unable to obtain a desirable destination or property. The first year, we were hard pressed by your travel agent to try Cancun. We agreed. We found the property to be very average, and very expensive compared to other vacations we have taken in Mexico. We were also pressured into a presentation at the property, which wasted a whole day of our vacation. We invested $3000, and also gave up 2 airline tickets, and basically have received very little in return for our investment.. The agents are hard to reach, they don't call back promptly if at all, and so far we have not been placed in any of our requested locations. I also found the agents to be less than cordial, and not very friendly. I addressed a letter to the local Global Travel, as well to the corporate, expressing my concerns, and to date have not been contacted by anybody. We also have never heard from the agent on any travel. This whole program is nothing more than a scam, and I am embarrassed that I fell for it. We are out $3000. |

imhve been a Global Travel/Global Discovery Vacations customer for about 10 years. It is by far the best vacation club/time share value one the market. I have been to easily 20 different timeshare/vacation club sales presentations, and global is the best.
With our membership we have traveled to Paris, Brazil, Cleveland, Las Vegas, California, Florida, and Oregon. I have sent friends and family to Hawaii, and California. Next month I am going on a cruise and in June I have a week in Mexico on the beach booked. All with my membership.
Customer service is always beyond excellent.
My only problem is that I never have enough time off work to use all my vacation credits.
if you have ever considered a travel club or timeshare, this is the one to use.
