I received a check in the mail on May 9, 2008 in the amount of $4960.00 to be followed by instructions to call a "Claims Manager" to file this check before cashing the enclosed check. This check is from a "Grant for Home Improvement" approved for payment from candidates randomly selected from "Readers Digest, Publishers' Clearing House, Computer Data Base, Home Improvement Stores and other participating retail stores.

The procedure to follow through this "ordeal" was to call a long distance number that didn't start with an "888", proceed to ask "Claim Manager" about more grants an "Agent" will activate the "check" to be cashed at your bank before receiving the big "pay off" in the amount of $37,040.00 as a final payment with the total amount being $42,000.00. You must pay a fee of $3,150.00 for the "Foreign Account Dept. (F.A.T.) which will be delivered to your door by a courier.

You have three options at the bottom of the letter: A. Accept check, B. Payment options-Don't accept check and pay F.A.T. and admin fee out of pocket, C. No thanks, this award with be donated to local charities after the expiry date.

You know i choose "C" because I know there is no one in their right mind is gonna give you that kind of money unless he knocked on your door like they supposed to "Ed McMahon", didn't knock and I am not opening my door.
