I took out a policy with Globe Life awhile back for my daughter. My daughter passed on February 24,2006. I have been struggling since then for them to give me my claim money and it is now June. When I called to report my loss, they took my information and sent me a claim form. I filled it out and sent it back with the required documentation in March.

I didn't hear anything from them until I got what is called a foreign claim form with a letter asking for the exact same information and documents. The letter was dated April 4, 2006. On that letter, Globe Life asked for the doctor's name and address even though I had put it on the last claim form, told them by phone and even emailed me about it.

The same issue surrounds the death certificate. They asked for it (the original) on the first claim form they sent to me and I sent the original. Then on the second claim form, they asked for the same original that had already been sent. On the second claim form, they asked for the same documents I'd sent with the first plus some new documents that were not applicable to the case. What do I mean by non-applicable? Here is an example. They demanded my daughter's passport even though we had went to Mexico. However, until December 31,2007, no passport is required to enter and return from Mexico and Canada if you are a U.S. resident. So, we did not have nor did we need a passport.

I took the time to replace the documents they requested once again and I sent them, the second claims form and a letter detailed how I felt about their discrepancies and their ?giving me the run around?. I sent all this to them on April 29, 2006. The day I mailed this, I open my mailbox to find a letter from Globe Life stating that I did not need to do all of this after all and no further information was needed on my part because they were going to contact my daughter's doctor for information anyway. So, after I had paid money to replace the documents that they requested and went through all of that time and effort, they tell me that I didn't need to do all that after all. If I didn't need to do it, then why did they send me the other claim forms and demands? The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing in this farce of a company.

I contacted the doctor and she informed me that she'd received a request in the mail for my daughter's records. She faxed the records within that week. Weeks and weeks have passed and I have not heard anything from Globe Life. Then, a few days ago a letter arrived in the mail saying that they had received my correspondence(i.e. the letter explaining how I felt) and that it was forwarded to the appropriate person.

So, the situation is still not solved. They are dragging this out as long as possible to cheat me. I have been cheated out of my child...out of watching her grow up and go to prom and to college and do great things in the world. That should be enough. Life insurance companies are supposed to make a hard time a little easier to bear. Globe Life has not done this for me. I had to pay for the funeral and all final expenses out of pocket. It is now June. My daughter passed almost four months ago.

I am struggling to pay my bills and I have not received one red cent from the company that I trusted and paid faithfully. I have all of the emails that I have sent them. I have all of the postal correspondence that I've sent them and that they've sent me. I have nothing to hide. This company had made me send forms that were not even necessary, they have not paid me in a timely manner, they are giving me conflicting information etc. I believe this company is a sham!

AUTHOR: InsuranceExpert - ()

POSTED: Monday, July 29, 2013

Since you are having trouble with your life insurance company, you should contact The Center for Life Insurance Disputes. Whatever the issue, they can recover your money without having to file a lawsuit. They have gotten insurers to pay out over $50 Million.

Amber,

If you haven't already done so, I would suggest you contact your State Attorney Generals Office and the Consumer Protection Agency, which I believe is under the State Attorney's privy.

I have had matter resolved in a very timely manner when working with my local MN Consumer Protection Agency and the MN State Attorney Generals Office.

God bless and good luck!

Life Insurance Claims Experts

AUTHOR: Steve - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, January 01, 2010

Amber, I am very sorry to hear your story. Globe Life, like so many other life insurers, has treated you unfairly because they know there is little you can do about it. Our firm represents anyone with a life insurance claim to make sure it gets paid and without delay. We are the only firm that has over 20 years representing clients with life insurance claims, collects over $30 million a year and only gets paid after our clients receive their claim money. Insurance Commissioner

AUTHOR: Ginger - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, June 04, 2006

Amber,

So sorry for your loss.

I would consider placing a call to the Insurance Commissioner in your state and explaining your situation to them they should be able to advise you as to what you need to do or may even be able to light a fire under Globe's underwriters and get your check to you ASAP.

I know when we lost my Grandmother last year it took forever for my Aunt to get the check to pay the balance on the funeral costs, lucky for us we have a large family and all costs were divided between 11 children and their spouses...

I wish you the best of luck, and condolences on the loss of your daughter.
