Go daddy recently auto-renewed my domain names even though I didn't want them.  They sent emails prior to the renewal but they all went to my spam folder (even though every other email i've ever gotten from them has come to my inbox).  When I finally found the charges on my credit card statement, I called them and said I didn't want the renewal, but they said they couldn't refund because I was beyond the 5 days that they give for me to contact them for refund  (Of note, I was originally told over the phone when I obtained the domain names that I would be able to call at any time to cancel they renewals and would get a pro-rated refund). How can I contact them within 5 days if I don't know it has happened? Furthermore, the charges were an astronomical amount, way more than I was originally quoted for domain names.  AND, there is no breakdown in my account of what all of the charges are for and Go Daddy couldn't give me that information when I called.  I have 9 domain names and I was supposed to be charged $10 per domain, but got a bill for $620.  When I went back to my junk folder and read the emails, they stated that my credit card was expired and couldn't be charged for the domains, so even if this had made it to my inbox, I probably wouldn't have taken action because my card was expired.  However, apparently, I had another card on file.  Hidden costs, inconsistent information by phone versus internet, poor customer service....How is it that companies like this survive in the marketplace?  If you have a product that people really want, you don't have to trick them into paying you.
