I bought five domain names from Godaddy several years ago, and never used them.  I forgot I even owned them.

I was out of the country for three weeks with no email and returned home to find a message that Go Daddy had renewed those web addresses for two years, despite the fact that my credit card on file was not the same one they charged -- still not sure how they managed that. I called 11 days after the email was sent and Go Daddy refused to cancel the order saying there was only a 7-day grace period.

I did not sign-up for auto renew that I recall. Apparently it's something automatically done that one has to opt-out.  I could really use the $182. I guess the CEO needs a new bottle of wine.
