Go Green Lawn Sprinklers Button Sprinklers, Calvin Button, Lee Button Did Not Finish Job. Did Not Perform Job Correctly. Did Not Obtain Permit. Took Money and Abandoned Contractual Obligations Houston, Texas

Entered in a contract with Calvin Lee Button of Go Green Lawn Sprinklers (TCEQ Irrigator License 0008312) on 07-Mar-13 for a 2 Zone lawn sprinkler. The job started at 0700 on 08-Mar-13 and around 11 am I had my father show up to check the progress (I was excited to know how things were coming). They told my father that they would be done in "1 hour". My father immediately asked, "Do you have a permit with the City of Houston to be doing this work" and they stated to him "No". Little after that the plumbing division for the City of Houston shows up and immediately stopped the job issuing a citation of $260.00 for "Un Permitted Work". Calvin Lee Button immediately called me stating that my father was "causing problems for him" and that you didn't need a permit for a job that small. A close family friend works for the plumbing division of Public Works and stated you MUST have a permit for any sprinkler job and that the lines had to be a minimum of X amount of inches from the surface and the back flow preventer must be inspected and the main line had to be X amount of inches below the surface. I showed up to the scene and told Calvin Lee Button that I would be MORE than happy to pay for the permit and he said okay and would show back up Monday to complete the job. Monday morning he told me he would be there at 1 pm and would be finished by 5pm.

Calvin Lee Button NEVER showed up, called, etc. I called SEVERAL times and he avoided me. I finally got ahold of him through text message the next day and he told me that if "My daddy didn't interrupt his job he would have been in and out that day" and other rude things. I stated I just wanted the job to be completed or just a refund me my money I paid up front. You see, I paid him half of the total jobs cost up front as requested by Calvin Lee Button as he stated he needed that for materials, I should have known better. What I believe happened is that he bought him self time and told me what I wanted to hear so I wouldn't place a stop payment on the check that I issued him for the materials. He waited till the check cleared and abandoned my COMPLETELY TORN UP YARD and left pieces of PVC pipe in my yard. I paid for MATERIALS, this means the controller box, valves, back flow preventer, pvc pipe, sprinkler heads, rain sensor, etc.... I got just pieces of pipe and a torn up yard. My father was accompanied by a childhood friend of mine and he stated, "Yea, when they were working on one side of the yard you can see the entire line moving under the soil, it was really shallow."
