Website Tonight is extremely buggy. I am having a nightmare using it. I don't even know where to begin. let me start:
1. I have a web page that includes a photo gallery (using website tonight's built-in "insert image collection" tool. However the page won't load in IE. It only loads in Firefox. The browser runs into a javascript error.
2. That same gallery page has additional navigation buttons on the nav bar that shouldn't be there. Two of my web pages that are designed to be internal (only displayed when called on) are linked to on the nav bar FOR NO REASON WHATSOEVER. Just plain idiots...
3. godaddy won't tell us how to install google analytics. They don't give me access to the header of the web page where I am supposed to install the google analytics code acording to google instructions.
4. Talking about the photo gallery -- the gallery will allow a mouseover title and description, but it won't allow a regular-display title and description. How absurd!! it's so annoying to have a title or description floating around the screen (as is the case with mouseovers) and it's difficult to copy or print.
5. The code is just plain buggy. I "select all" text in a content box and assign a certain font and size, but the application ignores me. It just does its own thing. I say increase font size, it does notihng, I say decrease, it increases... things like that. I later discovered, that code is giving contradictory info to the browser. look at this butchered code for example:
<td style="text-align: left; font-size: 8pt;"><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><font style="font-size: 16px;"><font style="font-size: 13px;"><span id="formLabel_ee5ca" controlID="formElement_ee5ca">Resp. Address:</span><span id="formLabel_ee5caRequiredIndicator" style="color: #ff0000;"> *</span></font></font></font></td>
Ok... so which one is it? 13px or 16px? Or perhaps 8pt as specified by the parent tag? are you kidding me?
here's another one:
<div class="sf_main_header" ><div style="display:block;" ><font style="font-size: 32px;"><font style="font-size: 28px;"><b><font style="font-size: 28px;">Beth Din Givas Hamorah</font></b><br />
</font></font> <font style="font-size: 12px;">a free halakhic adjudication service to the haredi Jewish community in the metropolitan New York area<br />
</font></div></div>
6. And then there is this absolute nightmare I had with their formmail. It malfunctions on many levels. For one it was randomly switching the background color into green and then off and then on at will every time I edited the form properties. Secondly, the elements in the form cannot be named. I give one a name and then it reverts itself to some random gibberish. Sometimes when I am successful in changing the "label" of the element, I must click several times on the element in order to select the desired element before making changes. Otherwise some weird property box is the default item presented to me to be edited, which of course doesn't accept changes; but it's also something I never entered in the form and don't know what it is.
7. The help files on website tonight are non-existent and/or non-searchable. In order to navigate them I got to pass through a labyrinth with dozens of menus and submenus on variously formatted and changing-hierarchy pages. Some are in pdf for no apparent reason.
Am I the only one having these problems? What's wrong with these people? How are they in business like this?
