This landlord is a joke, a straight slum lord! DO NOT ENTER INTO ANY CONTRACTS WITH HIM! His tenant agreement is PAGES long with ridiculous addendums basically making the tenant responsible for everything. Your AC/stove/appliance broke? Too bad you're responsible for the first $100 of ANYTHING that needs to be fixed. And the only person allowed to fix his property is an incompetent handyman who apparently specializes in everything (yea, right). Meanwhile, everything in our house was literally circa the 70's. Our super old stove only worked at 350 degrees and if you tried to raise the temperature, it only went down!  The entire home is infested with termites and we only realized it months later after his shoddy paint job covering their burrowing holes flaked off from the eating away the door frames. Once, when our AC broke in the middle of summer i called his handyman and told him the closet it was in was literally flooded. He came, said it was a paper towel blocking it (no, that was only placed that morning because of the water EVERYWHERE in my daughters closer!) and left. Well, needless to say the next day it was flooded AGAIN with his halfwit, lazy fix. When he showed up his exact words were "OH! you didn't tell me there was this much water!!" Umm...what exactly do you think the term FLOODED means? So we had to pay for that nonsense out of our own pocket, just to name 1 instance of stupidity. We never heard from the landlord once, except when he was sending us a letter to state our rent has gone up due to "unforseen rent and insurance increases" with no proof as to where these increases came from. But since we were in a tight spot and couldn't move we rolled with the punches. WELL, i get the same letter again this year so now my rent is $100 more than 2 years ago...for his POS house! When i told my neighbors what i pay in rent they were ASTOUNDED that he charges that much for how downtrodden the property was (not to mention their home keeps getting termites and they can't figure out why...i told them!!) My contract was up in February, he had my 1st, last, and security so instead of paying the ridiculous increase i moved out. I sent him his key and a written note on his increase letter that his home was empty and cleaned out....and you know what he did? HE HAD AN EVICTION NOTICE filed against me stating that i owe him MORE MONEY!!! Hilarious to say the least and i most definitely will be fighting him in court - DON'T BE HIS NEXT VICTIM!!!
