they sent a person to my home. He stated that i was late and that he was here to collect on the debt. then he uses my cell phone to call greentree. the person he calls (lisa) says im to get out my checkbook and write a check for 40.00 and give it to this person standing in my livingroom. Hes still not told me his name, only greentree, which i mistook as his name. I did not have a checkbook i offered to get a money order. After which i told him to leave the property, he refused until I offered to call the sheriff.

It took dialing 911 to get him to leave. I went into town to get a money order and he followed me to the walmart and waited till i got the money order, then he left w/o it.

His boss called me a little later stating that i needed to mail the money order right away. She then admitted that they probably already have the payment but that its in a lock box in illinois. so she cant credit my account for the payment till after march 1st (january's payment)

I wonder when they'll cash febs payment, and how much they'll charge me for that.

The mis-information on this entire thread is of gargantuan proportions. Here's just an example:

Green Tree/Conseco are one in the same. Both went bankrupt and Conseco was eradicated, with most assets being asigned to Green Tree.

Whoo, boy. Totally false. Here are the facts:

Conseco FINANCIAL purchased Green Tree. Green Tree had a bunch of unreported non-performing assets when Conseco purchased them. This caused Conseco FINANCIAL'S bankruptcy. Conseco is not "eradicated"--Conseco Financial was sold off. The holding company CONSECO owns many, many, MANY insurance companies, have a B+ rating, and are in excellent financial condition. Families all across America depend on our protection when they suffer cancer, heart attack, stroke or other serious illness. It is our coverage that lets many people keep their home, farm, and savings.

When will you all clue up that CONSECO has not been in the mortgage biz since 2003? Conseco is doing NOTHING TO YOU! If you go to the link provided in this thread (gtservicing.com) you will find zero, zip, nothing, NADA mentioned about Conseco. Why? BECAUSE CONSECO DOES NOT OWN GREENTREE! Good God Almighty!

I have never worked for Conseco FINANCIAL, but do work for PMA, a subsidiary of CONSECO INSURANCE.

When they contract you and find you here in TX. They can start the time all over again on your report. But I was told the company cannot put the debt on you report twice for the same thing. The people who assumed our loan defaulted 5 years later, so that makes my husband responsible they said!

Greentree wanted him to sign a Surrender of property form! Which he refused to do,because he don't own the home anymore. If we called and put in the account # it shows the lady who assumed it. they threatened to sue him, and he still refused! It shows on his report as paid in full by Greentree! Now Conseco reported him to transunion, but no Acc#, no amount, no date of open. butif I call them it's like saying yes it's ours.

lisa from greentree has once again started demanding money for unexplained charges for an insurance policy. We have a full coverage insurance policy in effect and this was proven to them by my insurance agent at Brown ins. at Crossville TN. So what this policy is for god only knows. she called me and said if they (GREENTREE) didnt recieve this money, $64.54, they would immediatly begin forclosure. then she demanded that my wife call her immediatly to verify we were actually married and that we really live in the residence.

When my wife called her she demanded that my wife GET OUT THAT CHECKBOOK NOW AND WRITE A CHECK FOR THE 64.54 And postdate if necessary. and overnite it. Im sorry to say it seems these people have a voracious appetite for making threats ands demands for cash. AAThey stil havent said why the constant gouge for extra cash, Nor have I been able to get a reciept. Ive told them that anyone coming onto the property will have an illeagle tresspass filed on them. This according to them is going to be a regular thing.

Green Tree's attorney that handles their manuafactured home portfolio is Erin P. Dyer, Dyer Law Firm, P.C., 5743 Centre Avenue, Pittsburg, Pennsylvania 15206.

I am somewhat familiar with the Fair Debt Collection Act, and this sounds like more collection action than was nessary.

If Conseco, is listed as the lien holder on title to your manufactured home - make Green Tree prove to you that they are actually the lien holder and that they have a right to be collecting payments. Push the issue, as to what right they have to be collecting for Conseco and why are they not listed as lien replacement on the title.

Mays well build Green Tree big attorney bill - this will make them think twice about their inappropriate conduct. You may want to consult with a counselor - send their attorney the bill - you sound distressed! Take Care.
