I visited Gucci Store 41 located at the Galleria Mall in Dallas, TX on 5/8/2014. Sandrine was the salesperson who helped me. I told her that I wanted to buy a Gucci belt for my husband. She asked me what size is his waist, I told her that he is 34 waist size. SHE THEN RECOMMENDED that I should buy a belt size 38 and that it should fit my husband properly. She ordered the belt from a Gucci Store in CA and I paid to have it shipped to my house.

After receiving the belt, my husband tried it on and we realized that it was a little tight. We decided that it’s better if we get a bigger size belt. After visiting with Sandrine and notifying her of the issue, she said that the belt has been worn and that we cannot offer you a replacement. We told her that the belt has been tried on which makes it worn of course, how can you try a belt on and see if it fits you properly without wearing it????!!!!! That is impossible. She said well I am sorry there is nothing I can do for you, I will not offer you an exchange, and she was rude.

Sandrine recommended size 38 which was too small, when we took the belt back for an exchange she refused to help using illusory excuses. This is not the proper way to conduct business nor to treat clients and consumers.

From Gucci - this is high end merchandise not Walmart or Target crap.  I, for one, have two Gucci bags and wallets.

So if you thought your husband wore a size 34 belt then maybe before buying this expensive item you should have measured his waist!

For online purchases, Gucci will accept merchandise in its original condition for a refund of the purchase price when accompanied by the original invoice.

full-price merchandise must be returned within 30 days from the date of delivery to Gucci.com or to a Gucci boutique within the united states.

sale merchandise and corporate gifts must be returned exclusively to Gucci.com within 10 days from the date of delivery.

merchandise cannot be returned to department stores.

Merchandise that has been worn, used, altered or damaged will not be accepted. Certain items such as jewelry, watches, sunglasses, and ready-to-wear are shipped with a return tag attached. Returns on these specific items will only be honored if the label remains intact.

Gucci reserves the right to refuse return of any merchandise that does not meet the above return requirements in Gucci’s sole discretion.

YOU are incorrect on your assumption that you get a refund. There is no "law" that states that YOU get a refund. A refund is done as courtesy. A refund can be denied for ANY reason. Even as small as they don't like your hair color. Its part of the "shopkeep Law" that every state has. So you go in and want a 34 waist size belt and the clerk tells you that you need a 38. So already the clerk has done their part and suggested the correct size your husband needs. You get the belt and in getting said belt, your husband tries it on. When he did that he probably marred the leather or deformed one of the eyelet holes. This would make that belt UNSELLABLE!!! Which is WHY your demand for a refund is ignored. It IS their right to deny a return. Your only recourse is to have your husband lose a few pounds, and the belt will fit perfectly. Otherwise, just don't shop at Gucci anymore. Just because its Gucci, doesn't mean that they are NOT a business. While Im sure you are upset, youre upset for the wrong reason. I can tell youre mad because they are not being flexible. NOT that they wouldn't do a return, but because they wont budge. What YOU fail to acknowledge is that SOMEONE ELSE makes the rules that the poor clerk HAS to follow. If she had done a return or exchange then it would have cost them their job. Stop and THINK for a few mins. How would YOU feel if someone came up to you at work and demanded that YOU do something that YOU KNOW would get you fired? Would YOU do it? Would YOU put your livelihood and the security of your family on the line all to make ONE PERSON happy? Im NOT saying you don't have a right to be upset, but YOU have to have some compassion. The salesperson can ONLY do what THEY are allowed by the same company. As a customer YOU are not privy to the internal policies that the clerk has to follow. YOU CANNOT EXPECT SOMEONE TO PUT THEIR JOB ON THE LINE FOR YOU!!! Not over a belt. >>>>>>>This is not the proper way to conduct business nor to treat clients and consumers.<<<<<< And let me guess, the "proper" way to treat clients and consumers is to give YOU YOUR WAY?? You do realize how self-entitled YOU sound. Unless YOU have a 4 year degree in Business Management how can YOU state WHAT is proper and what is not? Unless YOU are on the board of directors, HOW in ANY stretch of the imagination can YOU say what is proper or not? Your entire post is one big complaint designed SOLEY to make YOU look like a better victim. Since there are 3 sides to every story, WHAT would that poor salesperson have to say?? Im betting it would BARELY match up with YOUR story. Such as key points. You wanted a belt ect ect ect. Them NOT giving YOU a refund IS NOT a ripoff. Every business has policies in place. Gucci would be no different. If your return DID NOT meet Guccis return policies then you will not receive a refund. Making a FALSE report like this one only goes to show that YOU WANT YOU WAY NO MATTER WHAT. That's how a child acts. Youre supposedly an adult. Maybe act like one??
