I'm NOT writing this report to bad mouth Guiding Light(Lumina Pacifica). I had appplied for a job to work at home as a psychic(07/2010). I was told and emailed by a weird sounding woman. Her voice sounds a little strange to me. No disrespect intended at all. I was informed to fax an application,my personal identification and my social security card in order to be hired. I had never recieved a follow up email from this company(Guiding Light),letting me know that my information was recieved. I had sent repeated emails because I also have a regular job and work in the evenings at a busy pizza shop. I DO NOT have the time to sit and make repeated phone calls to someone. I had finally spoken with the woman for a very brief period of time. She had a nasty, unprofessional attitude because I had calmly asked her did she recieve my personal information.

She became a little short tempered with me and just hung up on me. I'm really worried right now. I have never worked from home before. I do know that if you recieve someone's personal information, you're supposed to follow up and let them know that their information has been recieved and is secure. At this point,I'm not worried or concerned about recieving a hiring decision from Guiding Light aka Lumina Pacifica. I'm worried about my personal information being fraudulantly used as a scam. I'm concerned about my credit being destroyed. I'm not trying to bad mouth Guiding Light. I'm very SKEPTICAL right now.

My advise to anyone who's interested in working from home is to do your research very well. DO NOT send your personal information to a work at home company without doing an in dept research. I'm very skeptical about Guiding Light(Lumina Pacifica). I will rather continue working outside of my home to avoid these types of work at home scams. Again, I'm making this clear and concise that I'm not trying to bad mouth Guiding Light. I've just had a very bad experience with them and I had faxed my personal information to these people and I don't know if my information is secure.

Report IS Fishy...

AUTHOR: Guiding Light - (United States of America)

Wow, we are really disappointed what someone is posting about our company just because it appears that we didn't purchase their services. We only retain around 2% of all applicants and we pride ourselves in having qualified, empowering and experienced psychics who are in the business of giving psychic readings. The person who filed the complaint said that they had a full time job and worked delivering pizza, so we doubt if they are a professional psychic so they wouldn't have been qualified. By their unhappy tone it is also apparent that they don't manifest the positive, inspiring intuitive skills to give our customers the highest level of fulfillment that they are looking for. All of our contractors know how to create enriching experiences in their own lives and in the lives of others and to take lemons and make lemonade. If the person who complained could do this they wouldn't have written something that misrepresents a company and could potentially mislead future applicants and mitigate their opportunities for success. They would have communicated with us and they never did.

We don't want to disappoint anyone, but we get 100's of applicants a month and can only chose the very best. We NEVER hang up on anyone and always treat everyone with kindnesses and utmost respect. It is actually a bit shocking that someone would say that we sounded weird on the phone. We don't have a clue what that means, but sadly, it speaks volumes about the perception of someone who says this. We pride ourselves that over 80% of our phone psychics have been with us for most of our 15 years in business because of our ethical business practices, which says a lot. We don't remember this applicant, but we kind of feel sorry for them. If this actually was a legitimate applicant it appears that they were looking to find work that is more fulfilling and increases their level of prosperity and we can only wish them the best. If they had been qualified for the position with us and had the vision and compassion to enrich the lives of others we  could have potentially contracted with them and they would have found the more abundant life that they were looking for and all of us so richly deserve.

Regarding the 1009- the government requires that everyone fills out a 1099 with their SS number or EIN. You can not legally work in this country without without giving it and they are kept strictly confidential. If we don't collect it we are heavily fined..Sorry, but it is the law.

Furthermore we are confused why Rip Off Report, who appears to run an honest business, would allow a "potential complaint" to be filed. That is like saying EVERY person who ever receives your SS# from an employer to a bank could "potentially" steal your identity so most of the country would be on this list.

Report seems fishy to me

AUTHOR: blackhawk65 - (United States of America)

My name is Amos Robinson, and although I am not technically a former employee of Guiding Light, I did work through them as a contractor from 1996 through 2001. I believe I know the person whom this reporter refers here to as being "a weird sounding woman", and as having "a nasty, unprofessional attitude" - the former here being a petty personal attack. And though I cannot testify as to her private life, I have never known this person to be anything but calm and professional while working. During my years with Guiding Light Network, I experienced what I can only refer to as a wonderful balance between professionalism and a feeling of family. The reporting party here knows what job he/she sought in applying with Guiding Light, and so he/she cannot say that he/she is unaware of the status of the industry. That the person left unnamed here did not acknowledge the reporter's application is not unusual. Indeed, in nearly every industry, from mini-mart clerk to giant corporations, applications and resumes sit until an opening occurs. I very strongly suspect that this report is less about concern for the reporter's personal information, and has more to do with his/her impatience...perhaps sprinkled with some sour grapes over something his/her impatience caused him/her to say during that conversation, possibly costing him/her a chance at the position...but this is speculation.
