I had an issue with my 2004 Yukon XL. I had a friend diagnose it as blown manifold intake gaskets causing air to get in the engine. I bought the truck 1.5 years ago. When I purchased the truck I was talked into getting the 2 year extended powertrain warranty. It cost an additional $2000. Since this is a big vehicle and it would be a big fix I went for it.
When I found out the intake gaskets were bad I called Harold Zeigler to see if this repair would be covered under my warranty. The looked up my warranty on the spot and said yes, however, they will have to diagnose it as the problem. They also informed me that I had a $100 deductable which would be paid when diagnosis was done.
I know that I was taking a $100 risk that the diagnosis would come back as a different issue. But my assumptions were correct. The intake gaskets were blown. However now they tell me that the intake gaskets are not covered by the warranty. On top of that they told me that my warranty had expired anyway. I told them I paid $2000 for an extended warranty that didnt last me the 2 years they said. Their response was that the warranty had expired 262 miles ago. I was sold on a 2 year warranty. I thought I had two years!!!!
Besides the fact, even if the warranty was in place they said it would not have been covered. So they took my $100 and said if I wanted it fixed it was going to be about 500 more! I told them that this was the very reason I called ahead to make sure it was covered. This is the 2nd time Harold Ziegler has taken my $100 (first time they had me sit there for 3 hrs and said "we dont know what the problem is" and still took my $100). I just want my $100 back. I called ahead to avoid this situation and they lied and tricked me and my wife. I will never do business with them again. You screwed me out of $2100 already, just give me my $100 back!!!
