hays law center promised loan modification. took $3795 from us. have been trying to reach them but unable to. by doing a google search on the company i found out they are scam artists. i don't know what to do now lake forest, California

sept of 2010 i received a call from hays law center asking me if i would be interested in applying for a loan modification. it couldn't have come at a better time because at that time my husband was out of work, going through a lung transplant and waiting for his first check through disability retirement

i remember his name was patrick but i do not recall his last name. after explaining the program, he told me it would cost $3795 which i paid in 3 month installments. he did keep in contact with me for a few months asking me if i had any concerns or questions

after while though, patrick was no longer handling my account, it went to amber carter for awhile, than to debbie myers and finally to tamara farris. everyone of them kept asking me to send in updated checkstubs, checking account information etc. they would either call or email me

i was told not to pay my mortgage, that it would all work out at the end. but i do recall patrick telling me hays law center would be taking care of it. i should have known something was up after he told me that but i was in such a spot and going through so much at the time, it just went over my head

now, i am so far behind on my mortgage, i'm thinking the worse case senerio but i know i need to contact my mortgage lender and explain all this to them. i have been trying to call tamara farris but to no avail. i also tried to email tamara, patrick, debbie and amber and my mail comes back undeliverable.
