Oct. 19th 2007 my 2000 Cougar with 47843 miles with no warning stopped on me, I called Heiser Ford Lincoln- Mercury Dealership to tow the car in. I was told something in the transmission had burned up. They could put a factory rebuilt transmission in for $3000.00 or put a used transmission in with 50,000 miles for $1800.00. I opted for the used transmission with 50,000 miles. They could have it done in 2-3 days.

The car was finished Oct. 29th 2007. I went and picked up the car that evening, on returning home I realized my garage door opener was missing, I immediately returnrd to the Dealership.They could not find the opener, but was told to return the next day. Next day I returned and talked to the service person, who also said he couldn't find the opener. I told the service person the car was due for a oil change soon that they could have cslled to see if I wanted that done while the car was being repaired and he told me they wern't looking at that.

Two weeks later I took the car in for the oil change and report that the car wouldn't move in reverse 3 times during the 2 weeks I had the car back. That evening before getting off work I caled the Dealership to see what was going on with the car. They said they forgot to call me, but they were diagnosing the problem with the transmission. So they kept the car for 2 days on picking the car up, they said it was to quarts low on transmission fluid ? they just put the transmission in 2 weeks prior and the top for the brake fluid was missing, they would order one for $19.00. I told the service person no one had been under then them.

I origionally leased the car in 2000, after they stopped making them, I brought the car and had it serviced for everything had the Dealership.
