Worst rental company ever. Was very happy about the price for our PREPAID/PER CHARGED rental but after we arrived at the airport on 11/3/2013 was told by a very rude employee of Hertz that we also needed an additional $200.00 deposit on our major credit card. He told us it was in the fine print, which it is not. Left us stranded at the airport 80 miles from our destination as we didn't have the additional funds on the card. After 8 days I called Hertz as we still have not been credited for the amount charged and upon calling was put to 4 people and was told we were a NO SHOW at the airport. We have witnesses at both Enterprise and Alamo as they were trying to help get us in a rental after Hertz was so rude..Bottom line be careful when renting a prepaid rental and stay away from HERTZ!!!! **As an update today is 12/15/2013 and still have not been credited or even contacted by any member of Hertz. Even a 1 star rating is too much for this company.

Deposits..

 You PrePaid for the rental, a deposit is different.  It is a guarantee that the Car Rental Companies add to the car for any possible incidental damages, late returns, cost of the rental...etc.  But I can practially see your eye's light up and are probably screaming and stomping your feet saying..things like Yes But our rental was pre-paid.   And the simple answer to that is..that is why your deposit was only $200.   Had you not pre-paid the rental the deposit would have been the estimated cost of the rental plus a small percentage, where if that amount was still under $200 the deposit would be the minimum of $200.

Now, if you have no extra charges the $200 is released when you return the car.  As for getting your money back, it is not the fault of Hertz that you don't have $200 available on your credit card.  You were a No-Show not because you didn't show up at the airport, but because you didn't complete the rental.  So don't expect them to credit you back your Pre-Paid rental.

Oh and yes this is how EVERY car rental agency operates, including Enterprise and Alamo.  Which by the way exactly how were they "trying" to get you a rental.
