Would you hire a person off the street to handle your case?  That is what you are doing if you hire this firm to represent you.  Oh sure, there are REAL lawyers that prepare the motions and briefs and such. But the day to day handling, communications ( both between you and the firm and the firm and the courts is handled by..... a "Case Manager" who has NO legal background what so ever. They are not a law clerk, paralegal, law student, or any other such entiety. Just someone that was hired off the street without any legal background at all. Like a secretary !  This is the person that will make or break your case. Mine was an easy one. If I had hired a local attorney, I would have had it done in about 4-5 months and the price would have been about $1500.00 .  Instead, I hired this firm and they charged me $1195.00 and proceded to tell me that it would take about the same amount of time (4-5 months) to complete. Well, folks, this is where the keystone cops and the car full of clowns comes into view. The "case manager" mishandled my filings and her communications with the court so that instead of 4-5 months....it took a year and three months to finally resolve my case. Part of that was also the fact that this law firms lawyers allowed the court clerks to run the show instead of pressing the correct path to completion. They filed the motion and it got lost in the system due to the ineptness of the case manager. Then they refiled it and it went to the criminal court instead of the civil side. Ruled upon, yet was of no value. Then had to be refiled a third time and have it heard in the civil court for a ruling that could be used to solve my case. Is this what you want to waste your money on?  Find a good law firm in your town that has physical lawyers working in that firm (not lawyers that are subcontracted to) that work and handle cases in the court system that you will have your case heard in and ruled on .....not some firm that is 2500 miles away and has no contacts or working relationship with the court in question. You may pay a little more or maybe even a little less, but you will have a real person that you can talk to (not email) and will work directly with the court. You will find that you will have less stress and more satisfaction in avoiding this firm and hiring a local one.
