This incident took place in April, 2016. That's when I was checking my credit report, because of a sudden drop to the credit grade. As I was trying to descover what, all of a sudden, from one month to the next, took place to bring down the grade drastically, the report showed"Homr Depot/ Citi Bank. So I dough up an old Home Depot bill, to get the phone no. off the page to call up Home Depot, to find out what's going on to cause them to cause my credit rating to drop so sudden & so much. Upon calling, the Citi Bank had answered at the other end of the phone. I had explained who I was & gave them my account no. info. They replied with: we've been trying to call you about a deliquent bill that was due in January, 2016. My reply was: if you tried to call, then I you never talked to me, because I never heard from you. And, by the way, why didn't you send me the bill , through the mail, like you usually do? They said they, (Citi Bank), sent out a bill too. But it never happened. And they know it. All of the Home Depot prior bills came through the mail. So, as I had requested: send me a letter of billing for the charges & dates the charges took place. The next few weeks came & the letter arrived. It had in it's content, the charges, with late fees & interests included. I walked into Home Depot to pay the charges (only), which I almost had trouble paying off, just the bill, without the interest & penalties. But I did manage to get them, (Home Depot), to accept the payment. But, from there, every month since the payment, I receive the componded penalties, which I belive, was a gimmick to get more money out of me by not notifing me in letter form, when the bill was due, like they've always done in the pass.

I was a regular Home Depot shopper until this incident took place. And in the pass, i've had bad experiences with Citi Bank. But, no more Home Depot shopping for me. Lo***s, O****** Supplies & a few more Mom & Pop stores get my money.

Meantime, I plan to fight this matter to the end. And, as they say: you live & learn. Businesses as large & greedy as Home Depot / Citi Bank have a need to steal from the customers because they don't meet their yearly quotas. So they sit back and create scenarios that they think will extract extra bucks from the customers, by ways they know, won't be too obvious, to catch the thief. But, by phone calls made to the Citi Bank, I think I can prove who got in touch with who, first.

A fight you are going to LOSE!!!

AUTHOR: Tyg - (USA)

Firstly, when YOU initially signed the paperwork to get that account YOU AGREED to ALL of the fees and penalties. Second, its YOUR responsibility to be on top of your bills. So for 4 months you "FORGOT" that YOU had a account. THAT is NOT thier fault. A bill is a REMINDER TO PAY!!!! If YOU did not recieve a bill for whatever reason then its on YOU to contact THEM to avoid the fees and penalties. Since YOU did not do this until APRIL then YOU have to pay the fines. CREDIT is a PRIVILAGE!!! NOT A RIGHT!!!!Are YOU so d**n lazy that YOU just cant take responsibility for YOUR BILLS?? At the end of the day, no matter what excuse YOU CHOSE TO USE, its YOUR FAULT that the bill didnt get paid for FOUR MONTHS. We get it, YOU FORGOT, but its NOT an excuse a Judge or Jury will buy. What it all boils down to is that YOU AGREED to the fees and fines for non payment. YOU wont be able to wiggle out of, lie your way, or BS someone on the phone to give you your way. CREDIT IS A PRIVILAGE YOU PAY FOR!! Home Depot is NOT the agency that issued YOU a credit limit so your post is PURE LIES to cover the FACT that YOU FORGOT TO PAY THE BILL!!!!
