Our horrible experience with Homeview contractors started on the first day with the high pressure salesman that came to our home and gave us a ridiculous quote for solar, wood floor and additional insulation  for our home.  Once we succumed to the price for wood floors and insulation and gave them a check for half of the project, the waiting game began.  The contract was signed on 24 Sep, 2012 and we did not hear from anyone at homeview until the week of Thanksgiving, after placing several calls to the salesman, who had since quit, and then to Val and others at the number listed.  Finally, after the explanation of "we wanted everything on site before we started the job" excuse came out, them came and started the insulation, but not nefore a couple of no call, no shows.  Once they were finally able to come out and start work, their machine broke down.  After getting their machine working again, or renting another, they barely had time to finish.  In fact, they didn't finish and had to come back the next day, except the next day we were going to be in Florida for Thanksgiving break.  They called and told us that after they cut holes in the ceiling of my garage, additional insulation was already there and they could not add any.  The holes are still there by the way.  The cost of the garage ceiling insulation was an additional 1500 to the final price.  Which they refused to credit me at the end stating it was only 250 bucks of material.  So they were going to charge me 1500, 250 of which was material and the rest labor, and at the end still want me to pay for the labor that never took place and credit me for the 250 in saved material.  Next came the flooring debacle.  They continously would not return calls and the secretary was unpleasant to talk to, it seemed like we were the ones with the problem for calling wanting answers and explanations for the lack of customer service.  I still can't get over her asking what it was in refference to when I called asking for Val.  I must have called 30 times, unless they just have that many people calling to complain and get answers!  After several falied attempts to get Val on the line to let us know when the flooring would arrive, we finally got a call on Friday from Val, excited that the had the flooring and they were going to deliver that Monday.  Guess what? No call, no show.  They didn't deliver the wod until after Christmas, 3 weeks after the supposed Monday delivery, oh yeah, with no courtesy call or sorry we missed our drop off appointment, or anything.  Finally, the first week of the new year, they deliver the wood.  It wasn't until a week later that the install crew arrived.  Five hours late.  Teir excuse was there was bad traffic.  Guess what?  Bad traffic always exists when you leave the shop at the start of rush hour for a job that is 2 hours away!  You can't leave BAltimore at 8am to get to West Virginia by 8am and expect to not hit traffic, it's cslled getting out of bed intime and leaving at a time that will put you at the job when you say you are going to be there.  They finally showed up and this guy had no cue what he was doing.  I only paid someone to install my woodd floors because I never did it before.  I could have watched a YouTube video and done it quicker than these guys.  So in a ten hour day, they got 24 square feet of flooring installed.  They worked so darned late at night because they never started on time, three hours late was the earliest they ever showed up.  One day, no call, no show and when he arrived 4 hours late the next day, he told us he had a prior job that he needed to take care of.  Completely unprofessional.  They marked up my newly painted walls with their nailgun and rubber hammer, I had to point this out to them because they didn't notice that they were marking my newly painted walls with their tool.  Anyway, a 2 day job at best took these guys nearly 3 weeks to complete.  They finally finished and left when my wife noticed a few finish nails weren't completely set and when the manager offered to send them out to complete, I insisted that nobody from that company was to come out here again, I'd set the finsih nails myself.  When anyone asks who did the wood floors I tell them Homeview did it.  The floors look great, don't get me wrong and the insulation has made a very noticeable difference in the summer and winter.  But I will NEVER EVER recommend anybody to use this company.  I was finally able to negotiate the final price down by 1000 dollars by offering cash and negate the financing.  This company was the source of so much stress and missed time from work to try and be here for when they said they were coming, I'd rather pay double for the work we had done by a reputable company than these guys.  The red flag should have gone up when the salesman had to break out a huge binder portfloio to try and sell us on a company that we have never heard of before by showing us the many jobs and all the years that they had been in business.  Go to google and read the reviews on Homeview, do your homework and take your business to a reputable business.  I'd rather try to do a project myself and screw it up, then pay double to LOWES or HOME DEPOT to fix it then take my chances with these people again.
