Hoosier Tradewnids Tradewinds stole $1700 from me. Kept my last 2 paychecks...September 2012 Arcadia, Indiana

I decided to leave Hoosier Tradewinds in early September 2012.  They insisted that I work another 10 days or so, as "notice", so I did.  Then guess what?  They never paid me for those last 2 weeks!!

That is about $1600, 2 checks around $800 each.   It is October 3rd now.  They refuse to take  my calls.  They just hang up, or forward me to a dead link.  Refusing to talk to me.

There were no problems.  I was not fired.  Matt, one of the bosses, had a meeting with me on the 14th, and he asked me to stay.  I told him I might come back, as a lease driver.  I meant it, too.

But the last 2 checks never came, and they refuse to communicate.  It is outright STEALING.  And that is wrong.

2nd issue is really immoral on their part.  You drivers know that they are required by law to give you a bus ticket home.  Read this part carefully.  The day I left, waiting at the terminal, they told me the Van was not available, and they were going to give me a taxi.  So far, ok.  Then Amber, my dispatcher called me on my cell phone, and said, use this T-check code for your bus ticket.  I said, T-check at the counter there, and she said yes. 



So she gave me the 16 digit code, T-check.  So I get in the taxi, ride to the bus station.  Turns out, Tradewinds lied to me, they did not pay the taxi.  The driver had not been paid.  So I had to pay him the $50.  (A very nice driver by the way,  hi Tom!). .... So I go inside, and the code Amber gave me is no good, they don't accept that at Greyhound.  (another lie, thanks Amber, you are the best!)

Ok, so I pay for the taxi and the bus.  But at least I have a T-check for $162 right?   Wrong.  When I try to cash it later at a truck stop, it comes back  "EXPRESS CODE CANCELLED".  The truckstop said they had never seen it.  Tradewinds wrote it, but then they cancelled it, before I could cash it?

Is that  honest?  Is it moral?  Is is Christian?  All those lies, and just stealing $1500 in paychecks, and on top of that, violating federal law by refusing to pay my ride back home.  It was a very nasty deal and I resent it. 

The driver should understand, there is nothing against me.  No advances, no accidents, nothing I owe them.  They have never said I owe them anything.  I left completly clean, and they stole $1700 dollars from me.

They also violated federal law.  If I don't get my entire $1,700 by Friday, I will be contacting the feds to pursue that avenue.  And there is a lot more.  The Indiana labor authorities, and many more avenues to pursue this.  Even you-tube.  I am composing a video to upload to you-tube, telling this nasty story.



Tradewinds is a strange place.  I wasn't too unhappy there.  It was just hard getting my money.  Sometimes so many checks bounced, I had 5 weeks checks with me.  Eventually I got  everything, except these last items, the $1700 they stole from me this past month.  Now, they refuse to take my calls.  



If they would even talk to me, I would not file this report.  But they absolutely refuse to communicate, and that is a bad sign.  So many drivers have told me they do this, steal your money when you leave. Now I have experienced it.  If they don't pay it, it will be a long ordeal, reporting to the authorities, and eventually the courts there in Indiana.  That is where it stands right now.
