HUNT & HENRIQUES Hunts & Henriques 'psuedo lawyers' are really UNSCRUPULOUS BILL COLLECTORS San Jose California

This office poses as a 'law firm', but is nothing more than a collections office specializing in BREAKING CONSUMER LAWS and consumer harrassment!

I can see by other postings that I am not alone in being on the receiving end of H&H illegal practices. We must stand up to them and not let them get away with it!! My heart goes out to all who have been in similar or worse situations to my own.....but DON'T BE INTIMIDATED any more.

H&Henrique 'BOUGHT' a (alleged) debt from Citibank, and are now claiming that Citibank is their "Client", threatening me with a "legal action".
Yeah right.

H&H is trying to collect (aka "EXTORT") money from me, on an alleged debt that I have been disputing w/ Citibank for over a YEAR.

Citibank is equally to blame, since at no time over the past year have they supplied the proper "debt validation" I have requested (in writing, and owed me per my consumer rights)

H&H is the 2nd attempt to collect on this alleged debt - - first Citibank tried the "URS, United Recovery Service" in Texas....but when I requested debt validation and insisted in writing they cease phone harassment, lo & behold Citibank "hires" Hunt & Henrique.
All this means is that Citibank and/or URS "SOLD" the alleged debt to H&H. Citibank never provided me the proper documentation and knew they couldn't collect!!
So now, this office is trying to collect significantly more than the original dispute amount ever was....demanding payment w/in 30 days, etc.

Well interestingly enough, they didn't send anything 'certified mail', give a hard & fast legal deadline to pay, or even copy Citibank on the letter.
I know for a fact Citibank is not their "client" as they claim.

They can't get anything from me, I'm a single mom, don't own property, barely work part time, don't have any $$ . . . what the heck to they expect??

Know this: Even if someone claims to be a law office, you are ENTITLED and allowed by law to request from anyone claiming to be a collector/debtor;
1) their license to practice law in YOUR state 2) their business license allowing them to collect debts in YOUR State 3) their 'contract' with the original debtor allowing them to collect the debt 4) complete debt validation showing you history...the why's & how's of the amount you supposedly owe, including any interest /inflated amount they say you owe & why 5) a copy of your original contract with the original debtor proving that you are indebted to anyone in the first place.

Any company/collector is required to provide any/all the above to you upon request, w/in 30 days. If they do not, you DO NOT owe them anything and they cannot make a negative report on you to any credit agency (i.e. Experian) and you can demand to have any negative report removed.

DO report them to your State Attorney General, by calling & writing.

DO report them to all Federal agencies governing consumer law (i.e. FCPA).

DO report them to as many consumer agencies as you can call & write.

DO report them to your local TV & radio stations (especially the ones that highlight consumer stories / advocate consumer fairness).

Help fight back!! The more of us that speak up, the less these low-life collections agencies will get away with.

They feed off of intimidation tactics and harrassment. . . make them STOP !!!
