This is a collection for a lease with an apt complex which I left due to their illegal practices. My sister and I were "evicted" from an apartment complex for "not paying rent for 3 months." I have had my proof of rent payment and so has my sister with her half of rent with money orders. This apt. complex was torn down a month after we were evicted and we along with many other tenants were victims of fraud and illegal practices
which then was turned over to Hunter Warfield. The associates I have spoken to refused to allow me to explain what had happened and the supervisor was the worst...unprofessional and extremely rude. Whether this is an attempt to collect a debt, they are a business and should treat people with respect. I understand that their job is to collect debt, but they need to be informed that there are illegal business practices out
there before they buy/sell accounts to collect debt on. my sister and I are victim to it and have no way of reaching out to the original creditor because they are no longer in business. I in no way shape or form was rude, I was very polite and had many questions yet Hunter Warfield failed to answer most them as they would interrupt me and continue to say you owe this debt. I have been able to settle debt among 3 other agencies with no issue, but with Hunter Warfield it isn't the case. Every time Ive called i feel as if they are trained to not care. I actually had to tell ask one person, "did i say something that made you mad?" another i asked if they could please lower their voice as i was pregnant and did not want to get involved in a more stressful situation than this is. This is my 1st and probably will be only complaint on Ripoff Report about a
company because it takes a whole lot to take my time to rant a about a company online, but in this case... it was necessary. I've never had tears running down my eyes because of the way a collector had spoken to me over the telephone. I am trying to remove this debt off my credit as it is fraud and the information is not legit. I have proof that my rent was paid, yet no one will accept. i hope that my account has recorded conversations of me calling because the level of which their personalities reach are beyond words. This company (or its employees) should be ashamed of themselves. I honestly feel as though i was attacked. I have a copy of the lease and the eviction letters. Common sense would tell anyone that an apartment complex doesn't just go 3 months without asking you about your rent and one day "you're evicted for non-payment of rent for 3 months." I have my checks proving rent paid and my sister had 2 of 3 receipts for her money orders for her half. Hunter Warfield cannot provide actual months of eviction so that i can prove we were evicted for unethical business practices along with other tenants who also paid with money orders.
Because 1 was lost, we were evicted and the apartment complex "Signature Pointe Apts" in Dallas TX was demolished a couple months later. We refuse to pay this debt because we initially paid rent in the first place and this all came to our surprise one day. Even at court they had a lease that showed our rent was $850 a month and our lease stated $785 a month. 2 different rent payments on different lease agreements! When it went to Hunter Warfield, it reflects what our lease agreement clearly states. Very difficult company to work with and once again should be ashamed of themselves.
