Huston Motors Complete con artist with bottom line as number one priority Lake Wales Florida

 I bought a boat from this car dealership on May 9, 2013. The salesman would not agree to take me out for a test drive because he said it was raining too hard. Instead he wrote on a "WE OWE" that boat runs properly. I took delivery of the boat because it sounded ok when we ran it on the trailer and I had major plans with other families that involved the boat.  I had to trust the salesman and the two mechanics who, in retrospect, were the sleezeballs in the deal.  The mechanics went on and on about how mint the boat was and how wealthy the previous owner was and how they serviced the boat regularly, etc. 

Three days later I get the boat in the water and put it through the ski course to set up the perfect pass(speed control). Then I get behind the boat to ski and it could barely get me out of the water!! This is a professional ski boat we are taking about for $30k used, with a 400hp motor.  I immediately put the boat on the trailer and called the salesman. "Sorry you had bad luck with the boat. It was sold as is without warranty". I reminded him of the WE OWE and I eventually went around him to the owner Dave Huston.  After I spent $1000 on diagnostics at my local boat dealer, Huston Motors agrrees to look at the boat.

VERY short version is they ended up replacing the motor with a newly rebuilt on. This is where it gets even better.  The sleezy mechanic I mention above lied to me about having the fuel injectors sent out and professionally rebuilt. Instead he let them sit in parts cleaner for a day and installed them on the new motor. I  had asked him several times to have them professionally rebuilt because of all the problems with ethanol. You guessed it, the new motor gets ruined by the faulty injectors and voids my warranty with the engine manufacturer.  I called Dave Huston and he tells me to talk to his lawyer.

I beg the owner to fix the problem and he says no thanks.  My summer with my family was ruined and now I have a completely worthless boat, a large boat payment, and a $4000 bill to repair the motor that Huston Motors ruined and won't step up and take any accountablity for. Instead they are hiding behind their "as is" clause and their manadatory arbritration clause.

STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS. I didn't even mention the ad they ran for the boat. " Fully serviced, excellent condition, and boat goes easily in the low 50's and gets there fast"  ALL a big fat lie. They never even drove the boat until after I sent it back to them. It won't even go 45 mph.  These guys will not stand behind anything they do. They ONLY care about making money the old fashioned way, stealing it from trusting customers.  There is a better business bureau complaint filed as well as numerous other complaints about this business. Learn from my mistake please.
