At the first of the year sometime I tried to download an e-book but I did not know how to retrive it so I never read it. It was to get a Grant. My husband died without any ins. or much of a savings and the house needs a lot of repair. The only way I could see was to apply for a grant because you don't have to ever pay that back. On June 14, a nice sounding man called me his name was Jared, wanted to know if I had any trouble getting my grant, that is there job helping people like me who really needed the help, word the application properly and they new the right contacts to make.

He passed me over to his superior Mr. Erik Bullock, Sr. Director, we talked a while he said of course they couldn't devote there time for nothing and that there would be a small fee but let me turn you over to our financial man he can explain everything to you better. He was Mr. Cody Clark, yes he was something else. Some how the conversation came around to let me have your bank account # and I said no I don't give that out. You do have credit cards don't you, I said yes, he said you don't have Discover do you, I said yes he said what is there # I said I don't know 1800discover I guess he said the reason he ask for that one is they just done some business with them and they were good.

Before I knew it Discover card answered he told them I wanted to advance some cash, Chad at Discover had to talk to me he asked all the questions that were private to ID me and Mr Clark was on the phone and heard it all. That is when I found out the small fee wasn't so small after all it was $345.00 and then when I got my bill there was another $50.00 for making the transfer. Anyway I cancelled on the 16th of June and called Discover to stop the check and was told I was to late and besides the ok on the phone was a binding contract and could not be cancelled. I called I Works Mr.Clark told him I had to cancel do not cash the check. I called Jared that I had to cancel and to be sure I thought Mr Bullock was the top dog since he was Sr. Director, he wasn't in but his answering machine was on so I lift a message, then I talked to him later that day.

He Mr. Bullock said my 3 days to cancel did not start until I had received all the information and the software had not arrived yet. The CD arrived Fri. June18 late and I put it in a Priority Mail envelope wrote a note to Mr. Bullock saying I was sorry but because there was a terminal illness in the family, I would just have to cancel because I would be on call to go if needed or when I was needed. So I could not promise I could spend a few hours a week on the research I was to do. I did not know until I got my credit card bill that they had cashed the check, so I called them and was told I never talked to customer service they are the only ones who could cancel this for you and I am sorry but this is not refundable and besides it is over a month since you first talked with us. I asked about the note oh they never received that they do not accept packages, it must be in the warehouse.

Anyway they claim I never cancelled until July 22 I said I could claim a lot of things to its just there word against mine but I know it was delivered because I had delivery confirmation on it.
