Corporate Advocacy Program™

SEO Reputation Management at its best!

This is not a Corporate location, instead it is built to act and look like a corporate store. With low inventory and associates who don't know much about their products or their service, this place is HORRIBLE. iTalk owns about 15 locations around Illinois (www.shopitalk.com) and if you look carefully on their receipts, they have unethical charges such as "Green Fee", which is charged on every persons purchase automatically and it is automatically generated depending on your total amount (sometimes ranging from $1.50-$10.00). The customer is never told about this charge instead, once you purchase an item or a phone, this becomes NON REFUNDABLE, according to their almost 2 pages "Terms and Conditions". This person who owns this Non-Corporate Scam of a Company, is charging unethical charges on each purchase.

BUYERS BEWARE!! SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY AND GO TO A CORPORATE STORE OR EVEN ANOTHER FRANCHISE ("INDIRECT") Retailer OTHER THAN iTalk Wireless. Half the time, these owners don't have the correct inventory in stock and if you come in asking for an iPhone or the newest Android out, they try their hardest to put you into a low end device "temporarily" until they "receive" the device. ( WHICH CAN TAKE WEEKS!!).

Their products (Phones & Accessories) are a joke, chargers that go for almost $35.00 are not even authentic accessories. They are just put in a package with a Verizon Wireless logo and half the time they break on you within 3-4 weeks!! At times they even sell you devices that can be used or returned from previous frustrated and pissed off customers. Keep in mind there is no Product Warranty on accessories and if anything you will be charged a 25% restocking fee for something that can be DEFECTIVE or even $35-$75 restocking fees on devices!!

AGAIN, save your time and money and go to a store that will treat their customers right. I am still unsure on how these crooks and scammers are in business and are carrying the Verizon Logo on their stores. Hopefully someone will read this and shut these people down!!
Take it from me and don't listen to these rebuttals (mostly like the owner or one of his associates are assigned to do).

Visit www.shopiTalk.com to see all the locations so you DO NOT fall into this FAKE scam.

wish I read this before ever going to an Italk store

AUTHOR: Dan - (United States of America)

Everything this ex employee who started this thread says is 100% true.  I purchased a phone from their Naperville store, was given the wrong phone, then they tried to get me to keep it so that they could stall 14 days and then force me to keep it.  Amir supposedly was going to return it, but then called up the other person on my line and told them we were going to be charged a restocking fee.  These people are nothing but liars.  I talked to Verizon and the phone they sold me was used.  Had been activated twice before yet they're selling it as new.  We all know the "happy customer" is a fraud as well.  No one looks at these reports if they had a good experience.  I wish I would have known this was a non-Verizon store.  These people even lied to someone else and tried saying they are owned by Verizon.  NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.

Learn The Facts.

AUTHOR: consumer7423 - (United States of America)

There are many Verizon, Sprint, and ATT stores that do well over 1000 boxes a month, I guess until you are given the opportunity to work in one it's hard to believe.

Assuming that an employee who is no longer with Italk was terminated, couldn't sell, or now works at mcdonalds is a ridiculous thing to assume. Not all of us got fired and couldn't sell, Max... It seems like somebodies unemployment ran out and they want their job back. lol

You clearly have no idea what your talking about. I don't know what corp store you're talking about doing 1000 boxes, but its no where near Chicago. Maybe a McDonalds corporate store. Is that where you work now?

I'm not going to keep going at this with you, if you have a problem we can handle it in person. I've had nothing to do with iTalk for 6 months. The difference between me and you is, I can get over something and move on. You (who again, clearly has no business experience) can't. Plain and simple.

Amir is going to be just fine without you. Keep wrapping up those McChicken's at the Corporate store!

Idiot-Max

AUTHOR: Andrew - (United States of America)

Max Martinelli, shut up. Your an idiot. This is coming from the kid who got fired for trash talking iTalk to new employees. Its funny because half these people that work for iTalk, think that iTalk will help them be someone in the future and potentially have a career in the wireless industry. iTalk is going no where, people who work there will make NO money and NO Commission. Impossible quotas that no one can achieve due to low traffic (because of customer's bad experience at an iTalk location) and no inventory. Everyone I knew that worked there, knew how to sell but left iTalk due to the fact that no pay out was given, so they moved on. You have a Partners (OWNERS) of the company that are leaving, an example: Andrew Guizar and now Brad Church. Both partners left leaving the scammer owner Amir Bishai to run the company. Won't be surprised if this company shuts down sooner or later. SO again, Max, shut up, get a life and quit acting like your an asset to iTalk, because no one will hire a dumbass like you, who doesn't even know how to sell. iTalk will shut down and with the Department of Labor conducting an investigation against them, Ex-Employees will be given their rights and money back for the time wasted at iTalk.

LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD!!! and Reach out to the Department of Labor to shut the scammer of an owner AMIR BISHAI DOWN!!!

u must be slow... well you were fired twice from this company so obviously something is clearly wrong with you....

I work for corporate so who are you to tell me how many boxes i Myself as well as my coworkers due.  i can tell you that some corporate stores one in which i work DO OVER 1000 boxes a month.  700 is considered a weak month.

I no longer work for vzw so i have no clue what the new policies are for restock fees... but what i do know is that italk charged people more than you would pay elsewhere point blank period. I know because I WOULD CHARGE THEM.

I could care less about your retail experience i remember you and your stores numbers were the reasons NO ONE IN THE COMPANY would get paid out commission. compared to italk corporate goals are a cake walk. really 16new 1hpc 2mbb 1000acc, be on every dash call, 100% nps, ...and on top of that THE ENTIRE COMPANY NEEDS TO HIT A QUOTA WHICH NEEEEVER HAPPENS.  When i left no one had gotten paid out a dime of comis for the last 3 months. NO ONE.

if your going to sit here and tell me that you were one of the maybe 4 ppl max in the company to hit comis if the company even hit the goal every month i would listen to what u have to say but seeing as how u werent and i know u weren't i think you should shut up.  who gets fired not once but twice from the same company and then comes online and defends them?

i would constantly have customers threatening to go to the bbb bc there refund check on a phone they returned didnt arrive after almost a month and i have also talked to the department of labor personally  about wages that were once again withheld from me.

the owners are living it up on all the unpaid comis checks that the employees are not getting bc of impossible goals and lack of inventory. so dont try in tell me corporate goals are hard. you sound more like the order taker buddy.  obviously u cant sell otherwise u wouldnt b worried about not hitting goals at corporate and being fired.  Must happen often for u im guessing?

You have no idea what you are talking about

AUTHOR: Max M - (United States of America)

First off, I have extensive sales and retail experience. You sound more like a cashier.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Corp stores do 200 to 500 boxes and have around 15 sales reps. So how is a rep possibly doing 200 boxes? Any corp rep will tell you the tablet quotas are difficult.

The VZW restocking fees have changed, but when 4G devices first came out, it was $35 for regular phones, $50 for 4G devices, and $70 for tablets. That is where they got the restocking fees from. They don't charge $75 for a phone. That is a full out lie.

I won't comment on the green fee, but you have no validity to what you are saying. Then you talk about the better business bureau investigating them!? The BBB is a for profit company!! The funny thing is you are on a site (ripoffreport) which was created in opposition of the BBB and publicly ridicules them.

The only way someone can possibly be happy with working or.shoppin at italk wireless is.if they have NO experience working or shoppin elsewher. Let me.b the first to tell u. Having worked for another dealer and now at CORPORATE. Quotas r easy 12tabs ain't s**t I average as well as the other full timers average 150 to 200 box EACH. Compared to maybe 70 80 AS A STORE if wwre lucky enough to.have decent phones actually in stock .at italk. They fire there best e.mployees and wonder y they suck. 2 of.the 3 owners have left the company due to an on goin investigation with the better business bureau as well as thr department of labor Do to the hours they would withhold.from you that you infact.worked. neone stupid enough to defend this company has to b the owner or one of there office slaves.being forced to respond. #10 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Happy ex-employee, you guys need to shut up

AUTHOR: Max M - (United States of America)

First off, let me say I am an ACTUAL ex employee, and I enjoyed being apart of the iTalk team team quite a bit. Did I have some issues with them? Sure, it's a growing small business. Did I get blamed for stuff the drunken district manager did? Of course, all the time. Did I get fired twice and blamed for stuff that wasn't my fault even when I provided proof? Absolutely, it's a cut throat industry and tempers get crazy sometimes. Did I have to sign a crazy contract, and then almost get sued for working somewhere else? Definitely, but maybe I should have taken some responsibility before signing something like that.

All jokes aside, iTalk was probably the best place I've ever worked. iTalk was what you made of it. We were given the flexibility to sell how we wanted. I didn't have someone breathing down my neck like other retailers. I treated my customers better than any corporate store treated their customers. When I got hired, my store was the slowest in the company. After two or three months, my manager and I turned it into a top 3 store. We had higher NPS than the neighboring corporate stores. So all you guys talking about low inventory and not being a corporate store, you need to get over yourself. If that's how you feel, go work at a corporate store, where you have a 12 tablet per month quota, and if you don't hit it, you're fired.

How do you consider low inventory a rip off to customers? Sure it is an inconvenience to the sales rep, but it doesn't impact the customer at all. Some of these phones costs $500-$800. That's one rep's salary for two weeks. The longer that device sits on the shelf, the more it holds back the company.

The restocking fees on devices are THE SAME as corporate! The restocking fees on accessories are due to people who abuse the conveinence of retailers by buying something and returning it right away. You should explain the policies to the customer and let them decide. Big box retailers and major carriers INVENTED the restocking fee!

You guys want to talk about the price of a car charger... Ok, how much is a bottle of aspirin at a gas station? $7.99 for like 10 tablets. How much is it at walmart? $3.99 for 50 tablets. You guys have no background in economics, accounting, entrepreneurship, marketing, or business. Why do you think your qualified to critique their policies?

My customers loved me. It didn't matter to them if we were corporate or not, because we solved their problems. They probably could have saved a few bucks at a Best Buy, but I guarantee I get the job done right, and my customers were willing to pay a premium for my expertise and service. They didn't have to deal with order takers like you guys.

iTalk needs to improve in many respects, but what you guys are talking about is nonsense. If I was a business owner, and you incompetent idiots were my employees, I would have fired you a hundred times over. Your job was to balance the customer's interest with the company's. Sounds like you couldn't do either.

All I'm saying is you guys aren't trying to help consumers, you are trying to hurt iTalk. You really could care less about the customer. You are obviously mad about your experience there, and you simply want to take your rage out through a medium that was designed to expose predatory companies. All you are going to do is drive business away, thus hurting the current sales reps, and drive costs up making it worst for the customers you claim you are protecting.

-Max

At least I can read and write.

AUTHOR: John Doe - (United States of America)

1.      That should be youre worthless; you used the wrong your/youre. This was covered in second or third grade English class.
2.      I think you meant thats you. You see, you need to use an apostrophe when making a contraction; again, second or third grade level English here.

3.      Your second paragraph is a run on sentence. You should try using some commas or semicolons if you dont want the reader to pause between thoughts. You can also break up your thought and use periods as I have done here.

4.      Your grammar, education and mastery of the English language, continues to shine through with the claim that you are not a owner nor a employee. You should use an instead of a when a word begins with a vowel. Nor, while not required grammatically to change should probably be replaced with neither; and because you used this word, the second anwould not be required but still suggested. Now, on to your pointThose of us who have worked for this horrible company can see right through this lie. It was a gallant effort, Andrew.  We know its you because this is what the majority of the emails you send out look like.

5.      It seems a bit odd that you would be concerned with my morale. Its unlike you to have concern for other people.  My mental/emotional state is great! Im very happy with my life and everything that is both in and out of it. I am thrilled that this horrible company, italk, is no longer having a negative impact on my morale. There is great morale amonst the staff at my new place of employment and I am happy to say it's a company I could see myself retiring from. Do you see the difference here Einstein?

6.       Moral is either a noun referring to a lesson learned from a story or an adjective meaning one behaves with high standards or virtuous. I am quite content with my MORALS (which is, if Im not mistaken, the word you were looking for) and don't believe my wish to remain anonymous has any bearing on my moral fiber.

Lets break this down for a moment shall we? The moral of the story about working for italk is that it is a horrible place to work. I learned while working at italk that Andrew and Amir appear to have no morals. The person saying I would use my name if I had (giving benefit of the doubt here) morals, failed to use THEIR name. Thats a bit contradictory isnt it? I choose not to use my name because I dont trust italk. I believe you would harass me as Im sure you have nothing better to do and would spend your time calling me or emailing me with fake threats. Sorry, I just dont want to open myself up to that.

This is of course just food for thought, you uneducated troll.

Who ever you are you must have been a total failure to this company to be talking like this. Don't you think that if you would have been a good employee to this company you would still be employed? It amazes me that this generation like to go from job to job and not be happy with just one. Before you open your mouth about a company you know nothing about why don't you get facts first. iTalk is not horrible and I hate reading all of these posts. All you people who have posted about this company need to seriously get a life. You are all not there for one reason because you were not a fit for that company. They are obviously growing considering they are still open and I shop there frequently. So full of crap

AUTHOR: John Doe - (United States of America)

I am a former employee of Amir and Andrew and can say that it looks an awful lot like either Amir (since he can actually spell) or someone else in the main office wrote these rebuttals. 1. NONE of the customers shop multiple locations. Even if they did, they would have NO idea that they were in an iTalk store as Amir and his lap dog Andrew, try to pass off their stores as "corporate" stores as much as possible. When I worked there, Andrew wouldn't even admit to people that he was a third party dealer. He was convinced he was a corporate employee. 2. When a customer buys a phone from a third party dealer and then returns or exchanges the phone, the dealer then has the ability to send that device as long as there is no damage back to Brightpoint for a credit. Therefore, the argument that it is "used property and unsellable, is ridiculous. 3. As far as "job opportunities" go, this is one of the worst places you can go. The pay is horrible. The demands are ridiculous. The majority of the practices are unethical and immoral... some border on illegal. Don't believe me? Check with your State labor laws. I was so happy the day I left there. They are the definition of scam. Avoid this company like the plague.

AUTHOR: The Other Side... - (United States of America)

This statement about iTalk is untrue. I personally have shopped in a couple of their locations and have never had an issue. All the stores that I have been in have very knowledgeable employees who do know what they are doing. Maybe you happened to get a new hire that was just out of training and this is why you had a bad experience. As far as phones when I have gone in there they have always had the latest phones. Yes their accessories are a bit pricy but in order to run a successful business and stay in business they need to make money also. If they sold car chargers for $5 dollars they would no longer be in business!

As far as the restocking fees are concerned I was also charged and when they explained to me the reason behind it I was more understanding. The reason they charge this fee is because when a customer like us buys a phone and we dont like it; it now becomes a used product. When and if it does get returned they cannot resell that phone for the same price because it is used. They must take the hit and sell it for lower which they lose money on anyway.

Its customers like you that if you were to come into my store I would politely ask you to leave. All business's need to make money. If they didnt they wouldnt be there to service you and give many job opportunities to people.
