This is regarding a $20 purchase I made for online merchandise from IGE.

On a tight schedule, I was looking for a gaming site that could guarantee delivery within the hour after an order had been placed. I searched for several sites and found a slew of them which promised delivery "within minutes". However, I wanted more than bold words on a website- I wanted to verify that the delivery would in fact, take place, within minutes. So I quickly narrowed it down to who had 24/7 customer service who could guarantee that they had my item IN STOCK and that they were able to deliver within the hour (I am generous).

The first customer representative I reached was with IGE.com, who did, in fact, assure me that delivery would take place within 1 hour, and that the item was, in fact, in stock. Great! Despite paying nearly double what competitors were charging ($20+ vs $13.xx), I quickly made my order.

Then nothing.

After 90 minutes, I got on with the same customer rep who apologized for the delay and told me he would put the order on a "priority list" and PERSONALLY guaranteed me that it would be delivered within 15-45 minutes. He then asked, "is this acceptable?" I thought so, and waited another hour.

Again, nothing, despite checking my e-mail and in-game mail almost every 5 minutes for the past 2 hours.

Round 3: I contacted customer service again asking where the hell my item was. Then they pull out the big guns. The customer service rep tells me that the item will be delivered after 48 hours and mentions a security hold placed on my order which has now been marked for withheld delivery. Astounded, I check my email for the xxth time and find this:

"Your order has triggered our security system, and we need you to do an authentication check. Please confirm the following ordered item(s) by returning this email to corp.sec@ige.com. "

It was sent at 5:01AM, literally one minute after I had contacted customer service for the third time, 90 minutes after I had been promised delivery, and 45 minutes after I had been promised delivery AGAIN.

If there were a problem with my information, wouldn't they contact me AS SOON AS POSSIBLE after receiving my order? Certainly, I would imagine, before they promised delivery at a certain time, or at least the second time I requested delivery, but ONE MINUTE after I contacted customer service a third time?

...Maybe it was just coincidence, but consider that I had paid with paypal using my PREMIER VERIFIED account, a verified address and email, I wonder if they really did have a security issue or just lied to buy more time.

Overall, very unprofessional, false advertising, misrepresentation twice, and I have the sneaking suspicion that they lied to me. I furthermore wasted 3 hours awaiting the mystical "delivery" of my item, when I received from them vast amounts of frustration instead.
