Illinois Bone and Joint Institute, Dr. Anand Vora, rushed and impersonal evaluation, Libertyville, Illinois

I scheduled a last-minute appointment at Illinois Bone and Joint Institute (IBJI) for a sharp pain I have been having in my left foot. It was so last minute, the best I could do was show up at 10am, which was when the appointment was scheduled for. I filled out paperwork for half-hour then waited for a half-hour only to be brought to the examination room where I waited for another 10 minutes.

Dr. Vora then came in the room and was speaking a mile a minute and never asked my about the severity or occurrence interval of my pain. He just asked what sports I played while squeezing my foot until he got a reaction out of me. With my reaction, he decided to take x-rays to determine if it was a stress fracture.

I had x-rays taken and was brought back to the examination room I waited another 10+ minutes for Dr. Vora to return. Within LITERALLY ONE SECOND of looking at my x-ray he said he saw nothing wrong and that it was probably tendinitis and that I should return in four weeks it the pain persisted. With that, he bgan walking towards the door when I stopped him and asked him if my old othotics (for my flat feet) could be a problem or if new orthotics would help my situation. He replied "probably not."

He shook my hand and again turned towards the door when I stopped him again and mentioned my occupation involves a lot of walking and walking up and down stairs and asked if that would be a problem. He again replied "probably not," and again suggested if the pain persisted in four weeks to come back. He was so rushed and impersonal that I forgot to mention a s****.>

If Dr. Vora did not have the time available, I should have been told so instead of paying for a very rushed appointment to squeeze me in between other appointments. I am extremely unsatisfied with the way I was treated. I have had good experiences at IBJI in the past with broken bones, but after this I will not return. I am not diagnosing myself with a broken bone, but I expect more time and care when paying to see a licensed doctor at a well-known institute.
